Vineyard tour

Topsham Museum

The Museum is housed in one of a group of late 17th century buildings overlooking the Exe Estuary. Visitors can enjoy the furnished period rooms of the original merchant’s house and the Sail Loft with displays giving a timeline of the town’s general history. Much of the Museum’s focus is on Topsham’s maritime history, with its role as a trade port and ship building centre. Exhibits also include unique historic river craft, local trades and organisations, wildlife of the Exe Estuary and memorabilia of the film star Vivien Leigh. And there is a superb Tea Room for cream teas, coffee and cakes, and ice cream.

RSPB Bowling Green Marsh

Bowling Green Marsh is on the east bank of the Exe Estuary, within easy walking distance of Topsham and our shop at Darts Farm. It's the main high tide roost for the north of the estuary and one of the best places to watch birds in south-west England. View large numbers of waterbirds at very close range in winter - black-tailed godwits and wigeons feed close to the hide.

Good views over the estuary

Went there on the recommendation of an interview in BBC Radio Devon with an RSPB person who said that there was a spoonbill to be seen. 200 - 300 yard walk from the neatest parking, but a well equipped hide with warden, coffee and settees! Plenty to see,

Thus was a real!y great place to see top class art from the best artists in the South West. Sadly it closed in 2015, although the owner would like to have another gallery at some stage. It was a real hub for art lovers.

I loved this second hand and rare books shop because of it's eccentric and curious previous setting in a rambling old building over at least a couple of floors. Always interesting, always helpful. Also a good online presence. Just heard that it has moved
