Impromptu drop in.

The nearest restaurant to our accommodation, a traditional style building that probably has had a number of different uses over its long history. We arrived unannounced and were quickly welcomed and guided to a table, drinks ordered and the food order taken. Whilst it is clearly and understandably a shellfish themed restaurant none of us were shellfish fans so we ordered from the alternatives on the wide ranging menu, two steaks and two pasta mains with a garlic bread entree. The food was excellent, good sized portions, not too small yet not off puttingly enormous, very well prepared and presented and tasty too! Staff were good, knowledgeable and helpful, maybe a little brusque at times through pressure but I think that's better than being condescending! We were all impressed and would go again.

Lovely view, fine place to hang out, the food's ok too :)

I've been in here a few times before or after a boat trip out into the Sound. The service has been reliably friendly, the food is good (and there are reasonable vegetarian options for a seaside café with an emphasis on seafood) and the layout is really lovely. There are plenty of tables, but enough separation that it doesn't feel cramped.
