Full of character; not to mention delicious meals!
A group of six of us enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Le Jardin. The charming Italian owner invited us in and cleared a table for us, we got a personal introduction to the menu.Service was not fast, but the restaurant was also overflowing with customers. The food was absolutely worth the wait. Serving sizes were generous, presentation wonderful and the flavours divine! The restaurant itself is quite hidden from the street. Inside it’s an eclectic collection of painted artworks, sculptures, plants and more. An experience in itself.I highly recommend enjoying a meal at Le Jardin if you can get a table!

Tasty seafood but a dishonorable way of doing business
When you in Toliara, you should eat seafood, so we decided to have dinner in this restaurant because it had seafood platter with good price. However, as soon as we ordered it, no more than 5 minutes the waiter came back and told us the lobster in that price was no longer available, instead we had to pay more for a different size of lobster. It was just around 6:15 pm and there were total three table of people dining there (not a big tourist group). It's obviously impossible the advertised price lobsters were sold out! Even our tour guide felt ashamed for the conduct of the restaurant.Although the seafood tasted good and our waiter was nice, it would have been a nice experience for us dining there. However, the way the owners wanted to make money from tourists let us feel cheated. It is a dishonorable way of doing business.

Popular with the locals
Lovely Italian menu. Ordered a local fish filet with sautéed potatoes. Cooked perfectly and served with a lovely sauce – you get to choose the sauce you prefer. We sat outside where there were several expat regulars dining.. There is a small bar inside. We ordered South African wine by the glass. Solid cuisine and nice atmosphere.

Great local food
We loved eating at Esterel, it is a lovely and friendly informal garden setting although plenty of tables under cover too for rainy days. Great local (Malagasy) food and plenty of choice for foreigners... really nice and reasonably priced place to relax in the tranquility of their nice garden space.

Great Menu with Outside Seating
This is an excellent restaurant in Toliara with outdoor seating in the shade of big trees. The menu is extensive with Indian dishes as well. The food was very good and nicely presented. A great oasis in this rather big and dusty townThe service was very good and quick.

Must eat here!
This restaurant is right on the beach, food is sublime! The very varied menu is changed every day on a huge blackboard. Although it wasn't high season the restaurant was always quite busy during our 4 day stay here, word has obviously got around! Between us we ate about a dozen meals here and were never remotely disappointed - oh and they do good cocktails too!
