Best of the Best

I've prattled on about this fabulous taverna for years and nothing has changed. The best Greek food on the island bar none. Family run , everything cooked to perfection , most of the tables taken by Corfiotes or those in the know. Try a Sunday lunch. That should convince you. Great location, great staff, sensational food. Didn't really want to share this but the rest of the world needs to know about Angeliki's .

Phenomenal view and food!

I can't say enough good things about this spot! Our group visited Rome, Corfu, Santorini, and Athens, and this was hands down the best meal of the whole trip. Our server was so attentive, made us feel like old friends, and we were even given a lovely dessert at the end of the meal. For our mains, we had a spicy chicken dish that was super moist, and lamb that was the juiciest most flavorful lamb in all of Greece. It was wrapped, and we talked about it for the rest of the trip. It just melted in your mouth. All the sunsets in Corfu were lovely, but the one we caught here was out of this world. It's breathtaking! If you are going to the beaches in Paleokastritsa then I highly recommend going another 10 minutes up the mountain. You will not be disappointed.thank you for this riviews was amazing you make my day beaytiful i hope always you find the best in your life

Seafood platter on second visit

We had so many Sidari restaurants that we wanted to try that we weren't intending to go to any of them more than once, but we enjoyed our first meal here so much that we decided to go back before we flew back to a wet and windy UK.Traditionally you would be given a kérasma (sweet treat on the house) at the end of a meal in Corfu. Most restaurants don't seem to do that for tourists but this one still does it. Traditionally Corfu restaurants would ask if you want bread and charge you extra for it, and the bread isn't always particularly wonderful. Here they served two nice fresh bread rolls without asking, with flavoured butter and black olive tapenade provided, and the bill showed a 1.20 charge with no description against it. I'm guessing that 1.20 was for the bread, butter and tapenade. Bargain!I fancied sharing a seafood platter with my lovely wife, but we have had some bad experiences in France with all the seafood being served in shells and some of it being still alive when served. My lovely wife hates removing shells from seafood, and positively cringes when the seafood is still alive and curls up when you squeeze lemon juice onto it. I tend not to worry too much as long as it tastes good.So we asked the proprietor how the king prawns and mussels would be served. He said that the mussels would be served with one half of the shell removed, and that his wife would remove all the shells of the king prawns except for the end of the tail. So my wife nervously agreed to share it with me. She remembered the time in France when I ate everything and she ended up having half our daughter's burger - much to the annoyance of our daughter. So the proprietor got me in trouble with my lovely wife when the seafood platter arrived and the king prawns were still in their shells. Anyway, I shelled them and it was another brilliant meal. The kérasma (sweet treat on the house) at the end of the meal was different to the first time we ate there, but was just as delicious as the first one. A great place to eat, still our favourite place to eat in Sidari. Highly recommended.Thank you for your lovely review. Bread is the first thing that goes on a Greek table so that is why I don't ask. A proper Greek meal is how locals have it I believe. Thank you very much and we'll be glad to see you again

Just average......and I mean Just

This restaurant obviously relies on its location and heritage (its been trading since 1959), not its food. The front of house staff are really friendly but the food is average at the best. We always check TripAdvisor before we choose a place to dine, unfortunately this is the first time it has let us down! We won’t be going back!Hello Sir Its obvious that You have got it wrong as We don't rely on location and heritage and.... We mean it. Thousands of happy customers have the exact opposite opinion and would not agree with You . Actually We are not sure if You had something to eat in our place as You are not telling Us which where the dishes You ordered that where just average as You state. You are just using a general statement here so We suggest TripAdvisor should really check this particular review of Yours as it is a bit suspicious to Us , We would like to know Your order that particular night so We could agree or disagree and eventually analyze it deeper. According to Your review everything We served You was... Bad ??? In closing We can not agree with You Sir , with all due respect but You review is very unfair as You are not telling Us what Your order was. Regards The El Greco Team Response update : Thank You for uploading the pictures as they really prove our point ( Regarding Your comments in the Q+A section ).

Almost perfect

Lovely traditional taverna serving traditional food. Always vary there daily specials and the 3 coarse menu is such value for money. Stifado is delicious and even more so is the soforito. Just one thing.... onion rings are so easy to make and you using frozen ones are such a let down, everything else is so fresh .
