Charming spot for a tasty snack and some great wines
This was one of our favorite finds in Korcula. Cozy little space tucked away in a side street in old town with a nice view of the sea. We stopped by in late afternoon for a few glasses of wine and some charcuterie. The guys running the bar were awesome - friendly service and very knowledgeable about local wines. We liked it so much we came back the next day as well.

A regular organised trip by our hosts Sail Croatia. ‘Frank’ the owner greeted us with home made Rakije flanked by his trusty fresh pasta maker demonstrating her hand made skills. We walked up the hill overlooking the old village for a 5 minute history education then returned to the restaurant and devoured many courses of tasty traditional Croatian cuisine. A very memorable evening indeed.

Best Cooking in Croatia
I tried to eat at the best restaurants in Split, Hvar, Korčula and Dubrovnik and I've got to say that LD Restaurant came out on top. The setting is inevitably beautiful, the food had a level of intricacy and sophistication which declares 'Michelin Star chasing' and the service was smart and attentive. It surprised me to find this is such a comparative small and unspoiled part of the Croatia but I have to say that it was a very pleasant surprise!Price wise, you pay for the standard and it cost me more than dinner at 360 in Dubrovnik (which achieved its star) but I was impressed.

A very good advise from a Croatioan friend in Dubrovnik
Konoba Maslina does not, from the road, look like something special. It's easy to overlook on the short stretch of "no-mans land" between the road signs marking Korcula Town and Lumbarda. However, service is smiling, willing and polite! And the toilets are clean! And then the food: despite an imminent filling of the place from a busload of military personnel given a foodwise royal treatment, we were given all kinds of follow up from the attentive waiter. He gave small hints on what not to eat too much of (eg the small appetizer cakes) and then offered good wines while we were waiting for the main courses.Food was "simple" but definitely tasty, aromatic and filling. No wonder the place also filled up with locals -including our earlier and excellent boat-ride tour-guide and her family. The previously enjoyed "value for money"-pasta definitely was felt on our 6 km return by bicycle to our apartment north of Korcula Town.

Lovely location and beautifully presented food
Had a good meal here with everything beautifully presented though portion size was quite small. We had an octopus dish and the seafood paella with an excellent bottle of Posip. For dessert we had chocolate torte and chocolate soufflé both were very good. The setting of this restaurant overlooking the marina makes for a lovely ambience.

Proud owners serving delicious food
We were 3 in our party for dinner. Our very friendly & helpful waitress Iva made valuable suggestions for starters & wine. We started with some olives, the very different breaded octopus with their scrumptious house made tartar sauce & the fried Gouda cheese. The octopus was incredible! I enjoyed the grilled pork cutlet with pomme frites & super fresh & tasty grilled vegetables of eggplant, zucchini & red pepper. Everything on the plate was seasoned perfectly & very delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed the grilled prawns & our friend the grilled lamb. Both said they really enjoyed both dishes. A very friendly establishment with excellent service & delicious food. My boyfriend was able to send a few minutes with the cook who showed him the wood burning oven & explained the wood burning oven & chimney which flavors the food with a smoky flavor. Very highly recommended. Note only open for dinner & a very popular spot (well deserved) so reservations are recommended. On this evening this restaurant was fairly full while other restaurants were not.

Great food and location, a little over priced
Excellent selection of all types of Asian food in a fantastic location. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, but was a little bit put off by prices (particularly for lunch) and in particular the ordering and payment system which gives it a bit of a fast food restaurant feel.

The locals eat here and are well fed
Skver is very convenient for the pedestrian ferry to Orebic and Korcula Old Town (if Marco Polo was born here [it's disputed] he was probably a customer).Came in for a late lunch and had the remaining dish of the day (sadly the seafood one was sold out) of Croatian meatballs in gravy with mashed potato. Simple, delicious, inexpensive and just what we needed - with friendly service. Dunno if I'll ever have reason to return to Korcula, but I will surely eat here if I do.I have ticked "Cheap eats" in the form because I want to emphasise that the place is affordable - but that's "inexpensive" and NOT "cheap and nasty".Thank you. Will be glad to welcome you again with a fish menu ;-)
