Best waffles in the neighbourhood
This place is not easy to find. (under the tower of the church). They have the best waffels in town. Service was friendly. I had the impression that they had a lot of returning customers, they seemed to know all of them.

Well hidden next to the A12 Brussels-Antwerp we found this Italian restaurant some months ago.Since then we already went three times. The waiters are nice and helpfull. The food is better than good.Their prices are correct. One minus is that last night, saturday evening, an Italian live band was playing and their speakers were far too loud to have conversations. About 8 times the speakers gave a loud high whistle tone. The manager made remarks to the band but the whistle tones kept coming. The two times we went there before there was no live band on Sunday.

Classic food next to the A12 but with a good wine list
We took some classic dishes; carpaccio and Cote a l'os from Limousin meat with a Ribero del Duero wine from 2000 . Champagne from Pol Roger which was not too pricy and well chilled . The meat was good and cooked as requested, not on the grill but baked however. There were very little vegetables though and on a Friday evening the house was not packed at all....kind a strange . Anyhow, not too expensive but the classic dishes were ok .

This was our first visit and we were happy with the selection of food and drink. It is Eastern Mediterranean cuisine with authentic dishes such as Tagine, kefta, gyros, Shoarma, mixed grill, chicken dishes etc . Good quality food, good portions, good service, friendly staff, nice surroundings. I would have given it a 5 star if not for the payment choice. As we are not local people they did not accept a MasterCard or Visa card, only Maestro which made it rather awkward. Luckily someone else paid the bill. We will be back but only if we are aallowed to pay with our card!

The better Belgian brasserie
Right across an old brewery in the geographical centre of Belgium a good brasserie with the typical Flemish dishes, like 'stoofvlees met bier', 'koninginnehapje' of 'mosselen'. The food is fine and normally priced, the service is friendly & professional and it's always open. Try the different kinds of beer or beercocktails.

Good quality food & friendly staff!
We were looking for a quick lunch in the neighbourhood and found this place via tripadvisor. There's a nice big terrace out front surrounded by windshields but it was a tad too chilly to sit outside so we decided have our lunch indoors. The staff is very friendly, we also never had to wait long for them to come over when we needed them. We had a nice spaghetti, simple but good. Price was more then ok. If you don't like a lot of cheese on your pasta it's a good idea to ask to bring the cheese on the side. As you can derive from their name the setting is that of an old homestead. So it's not modern but rather rustic. It creates a nice, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Overall we had a nice lunch, not top quality, but good value for the money.

Exquisite food – Delicious wine – Simply outstanding.
If you are eager to enjoy an exquisite meal then we can certainly recommend Restaurant Jantra located in Kapelle op den Bos. Their menu has a variety of excellent dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients. Fish or meat, it does not matter. Whatever you order is the best we have tasted, ever. To start the evening, a short selection of outstanding "amuses" if offered by the house. The atmosphere is delightful and the staff is doing their utmost to make sure you have an evening you will enjoy till the last minute.

Good classical food but quite expensive for what it was
Very classical food in this place. We had starters, then steaks with pepper sauce. The quality was good but it was quite expensive for what it was.In the interior the tiled floor bothered me, it made me think of a kitchen, rather than of a cosy restaurant. Also the old fashion tank with lobsters looked very old fashioned.Service was slow. I had the impression there were not enough waiters.I don't live far from this place but I don't think I will go back.
