Most Popular Restaurants in Dili
Having endured 20 years of struggle for independence from Indonesia, East Timor's coastal capital, Dili, has made remarkable strides toward reconstruction after innumerable damages and losses. Its former Portuguese colonial flavor can still be found in remaining villas and churches along the waterfront, as well as the 65-foot statue of Jesus overlooking the coast, reminiscent of Cristo Redentor in Rio Di Janeiro. The waterfront parks and white sand beaches are popular for diving and relaxing.

Excellent Food with Intimate Atmosphere
The food is good and service unobtrusive. The menu is a mix of Australian and Indian, with a couple of Timorese mainstays. We had mostly Indian food, but judging from the rest of the clientele, they probably do western cuisine very well. The Indian rice pudding was outstanding - creamy, barely sweet, with a satisfying crunch of nuts sprinkled on top.I would recommend this restaurant more for date nights and business meetings rather than meals with small children. The wait staff are sweet-natured and obliging. Dear Pu3, Thank you kindly for reviewing your dining experience at Diya Restaurant at Discovery Inn. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the south Asian cuisine. We certainly look forward to welcoming you back again soon. All the best, Management

A breath of fresh air in dreary Dili
Lovely food, lovely staff enchanting atmosphere. Great choice of hot and cold drinks that you won't find elsewhere in Dili. I feel lucky to have had the chance to visit this place. What a shame no internet or I would have stayed longer.

No longer exists ...
The restaurant Diza as it was known no longer exists, we went there yesterday after reading some great reviews... the restaurant is now called Cara Vela... whilst when walking in the place looks nice and has great views, the staff were no longer attentive as reviews of the previous property had suggested ( they were too busy hiding behind counter doing each other’s hair and make up..) when wanting to order something we had to bang our salt and pepper shakers to get any attention... we ordered a gin and tonic which had no gin ( pretty sure it was water) then tried a cocktail which was also terrible and contained no alcohol... We were really looking forward to the octopus but decided given the experience so far that it wasn’t worth staying for and we left... very disappointing experience..

Breakfast on the beach
Run by an Aussie, this is a must for anyone yearning after an Aussie breakfast, which is when I visited, using the tables set up on the beach. Service was good, if slow. Clearly a popular venue at night, the food was very good. Make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy a swim and sit in the shade of the trees on the sand if visiting in the morning

Great food, great live music!
The food is good, mostly western. The live music is fun. The non-live music is often too loud and not great. Happy hour drink prices are fantastic! Good location too - right near other restaurants and over a good dive shop!

Best Vietnamese Cuisine in Dili
It offers wide-range of Vietnamese food like pho (rice noodles), roll (vegetable roll), banh mi (sandwich). Quite poplar restaurant in Dili, especially during lunch time when I could catch multilingual conversation within the air. Good place to spend your afternoon time as well, great ambience during that time. The Vietnamese drip is the best light coffee in town.

Calm and fine to dine at Panorama
There's a pleasant atmosphere of subdued but busy worklife here. Food and attentiveness from both skilled and trainee staff are great. The feeling of a comfy lookout tower is achieved. The restaurant is mostly quiet enough to hear your friends at your table, and cool enough to feel unflustered by the tropic heat. There are daily specials which are affordable and delicious. On one night, Saturday? Friday? the Skylounge below hosts crowds and a band. Snacks and drinks available also.Lively talk and shouts of beer at the bar and 'obrigada, mana!' can be heard, but it's for the convivial times of your stay.
