A well established reference

Already experienced on several occurrences in 2010-2011; Quite expensive but really way above average in terms of service, food, atmosphere, in a nutshell: professionalism! One downer, as it the place to ben being very posh and all, the restaurant is often crowded and noisy inside (nice set of tables outside but often warm and swarmed by mosquitoes), especially if there are locals or Lebanese businessmen who enjoy showing off.

A good choice of European cuisine

Although located in a pretty sketchy area of Ouagadougou this is a nice restaurant with good service and Castel beer ON TAP! The security as you go in is thorough but inside the staff were very friendly and the food came quickly (a rarity in these parts).Ordered the Forestiere pizza which was excellent. The base was thin but crispy and there was a good range of toppings on top. With the draught beer it went down very well! The place was relatively busy despite being a Sunday night and so the atmosphere was good. If I was in Ouagadougou again and wanted something European, I would return.

Contemporary African Classiness

The "Gondwana Restaurant" has a very contemporary artsy feel with a definite African flair! The food is refined and creative. They even have duck on the menu, so there is an admixture of fine French cuisine as well! They also have nice cocktails and aperitifs. And they are very gracious, offering a complimentary digestif (with bissap juice!) and a Senegalese tea at the end of the meal. Nice selection of desserts also.

Very nice French Restaurant with a full bar and a very attentive staff. We were there when the main chef was on vacation so there was some back and forth with the chef that was filling in to make sure that what we were ordering was available...but he was excellent in letting us know so that we did not set our sights on something that was not available. I had the veal and I was a little disappointed...it was one of the specials of the night and while it was good it was not great. As we were a large group we did a lot of sharing - there are many better entree's to order so I will definitely go back. I would highly recommend the Creme Brulee Chorizo starter - yes sounds weird but it was simply amazing...sweet, spicy, salty...all the things that make an appetizer great. Would definitely recommend the place but make sure that you check the hours.

The nuns do their best but it feels amateur

Just opposite the main market you have to walk the gauntlet of endless street peddlers to get to the restaurant.Once inside it is calm and clean. The nuns are polite and helpful, however they are not especially fast and orders and requests can be easily waylaid. Prices are very low and as a consequence the quality of the ingredients suffers. The local dishes are well done and good value (the to, the butterfly chicken...) but the more European dishes are not as well done.

French chic - both atmosphere and food

Visited for the first time, ambiance intimate though in a large garden, menu too frustrating (can't eat it all in one sitting), full of tempting choices. Variety of cocktails and drinks, both with alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. Prompt cheerful service inside, helpful parker outside. Shared my main since it was too rich to each alone, though the sweet vinaigrette dressing on the salad around the baked crumbed camembert that flowed onto the wonderful bread was a good light tone. Strawberry tart also with hint of mint was delicious and appreciated the parting hot drink.

Beautful setting, stylish vintage African design and delicious food

Small restaurant with only 10 or so tables, only does dinner, has a weekly set menu, 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 deserts. Serves delicious African inspired fusion food, with good prices and excellent service. This is not the place however to invite non-adventurous eaters, who may want their roasted chicken or fish soup. The chefs/owners are happy to adapt the dishes on the menu to serve allergies or other food avoidance.I will definitely come to eat here again.

Ok but be aware that home deliveries is their first business.

OK as a whole, setting original (terrace of a villa) in the trendy / Zone du bois residential are and personnel kind. Specialty is pizza (like more than have a dozen restaurants in Ouagadougou) but might be wise to avoid busy hours in the evening especially towards the end of the week. Since take aways (or take outs) is their core business, be prepared to be VERY patient when deliveries are being looked after while you just ordered...Took us a long time (ran out of pasta) last time I went!
