Most unique hike
The hike in took us right around an hour, and we weren't stopping much at all. It is uphill. It IS worth the HIKE. We wore our suits under our hiking clothes. After we were done, we had to wait to get behind one of the fence partitions to change out of ou

Fantastic expirience! Good location!
Make sure you book a slot on their website as this is the only option - the tours are pre-booked in advance, no option to pop in and join. I called them and they advised me to book online as they do not book over the phone. The guide was very knowledgable

A summary of the geothermal and earthquake action in the area.
Located in a shopping mall, the exhibition recreates the effects of the 2008 earthquake. There is a recreation of a home area affected by the quake and you can see the crack that opened up between tectonic plates through a sheet of glass in the floor.Hi K

We stopped by here on our drive back to the cottages one night. The cemetery was all lit up. Even with the highway right next to it, it was peaceful and calming. Took advantage of the lights and the moon to take some amazing photos.

Golden Circle and South Coast tours
This was our first trip to Iceland and the experience lived up to our expectations. We booked 2 full day excursions with Iceland Activities and thoroughly pleased with the content and quality of the tours. Iceland has a lot to offer and both Andres (Southern tour) and Helgi (Golden Circle including lava caves) were fully comprehensive in explaining the local area and the history of the natural features and Iceland as a whole. Both trips were action packed and the drives between each location were filled with happy chatter and information which made it part of the trip. Personal favourites were the glacier which is spectacular, the Gesyers, “Justin Beibers video” plane accessed by bike and the lava caves. We got to see 3 different waterfalls - each of which were amazing in different ways. Daylight is at a premium at this time of year and the early starts and late finishes were timed with hitting the right spots at the right time to maximise the sightseeing. The only disappointment was not getting to see the Northern Lights to any extent but this is the nature of the beast given the exceptional meteorological circumstances that need to be in place. That said the rest of the trip was a great success made by the extremely personable and informative guides who made us extremely comfortable throughout. This family run company really has a laid back feel to it which made us feel really welcome. As with all things in Iceland it comes at a price but for us it was money well spent. Another tip is to combine with a stay at Frost and Fire hotel which is really local to the tour operator.
