Nitra (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈɲitra] ( listen); also known by other alternative names) is a city in western Slovakia, situated at the foot of Zobor Mountain in the valley of the river Nitra. With a population of about 79,472, it is the fifth-largest city in Slovakia. Nitra is also one of the oldest cities in Slovakia; it was the political center of the Principality of Nitra. Today, it is a seat of a kraj (Nitra Region) and an okres (Nitra District).

Not too big, but beauty

Short walk uphil and You are there. Great view of the Town and really beautiful Cathedra - there is also a Museum which I didn't attend so please look at another reviews :). Couple of pictures how this place look like in 2002 (bad). Reasonable price for C

Historical Statue Below The Castle

It is of considerable architectural quality with chaste Moorish elements. I attended a dramatic performance for which the former synagogue was eminently suitable.

To see a history of city please visit this castle and cathedral. Nice city view and historical museum. Cathedral is open during a holy church.
