The Peace River (French: rivière de la Paix) is a 1,923 km (1,195 mi)-long river in Canada that originates in the Rocky Mountains of northern British Columbia and flows to the northeast through northern Alberta. The Peace River joins the Athabasca River in the Peace-Athabasca Delta to form the Slave River, a tributary of the Mackenzie River. The Finlay River, the main headwater of the Peace River, is regarded as the ultimate source of the Mackenzie River. The combined Finlay–Peace–Slave–Mackenzie river system is the 13th longest river system in the world.

This is a great lookout and is often overlooked by visitors but well worth the trip! It's only about 5 minutes south of town. It's not well signed, but if you follow the signs for AB Hwy 744 you will see it at the top of the hill. There is a picnic area,

Fun public SPLASH park for kids.

Good place to bring the kids in the summer if you're in Peace River on a hot, sunny day. Much like other public splash parks in other towns. Washroom and change facilities available on site. Small covered area available with tables if you get there early
