Worth seeing; easier to reach from Mukdahan

Other reviewers have described this place very well. Although it's in Roi Et province, it's closer to Mukdahan. I went by bus from Muk to Lerng Nan Ta, then another bus towards Roi Et. There is no public transport for the last 5km in from the highway, but

Nice City Park in Selephum Town

Not much to do in this growing rural town but it does have a nice city park with a walking trail around the man-made ponds. It also has a small play ground. The park will host various celebrations during the year. The locals are always friendly.

Not the most overwhelming temple in Thailand but a must see

Huge crowds on what my buddhist lady said was religious holiday. Very impressive temple complex. If you go to Roi Et, you must see this place.
