Probably mid-day wasn't the best time to visit. It was just OK. Would happily(!) have gotten a t-shirt with a graphic of the bar, but none to be had. I imagine the Soggy Dollar makes 25% of its revenue from t-shirts.

Favorite out of the way kite destination - ever.
What to say... 3-time visitor. This is 5-star kite surfing. Love it more every time. The wind, water, people, and everything else are just amazing. It's a small, slightly out-of-the-way island but set up extremely well to handle kiters. Because it is small, everything is close and convenient, one of the best features.JT Pro Center now has 6 dinghy's now to service both major local kite spots on Union and one larger 700 hp boat to get to neighboring islands fast. The wind blows strong and steady in winter, and one finds themselves too worn out to physically kite as much as the wind blows. Which is OK because there is a great lounge area to just chill. The local restaurants, few as they are, are charming and delicious. Food on this island has a European - Caribbean flare, and has excellent access to fresh catch. It's hands down better than many other places in the Caribbean (Barbados, Bahamas to name a couple). It's a great place to learn (thanks to the local kite staff and dinghy's) and constant wind, and an even better place to go to get better. I've brought a couple of friends just to come learn and successfully get over the novice hump. There is always something to learn from Jeremie, Butter, and the others in his crew. With the boats, there is good access to both flat water and waves. And the Full Moon Party is just a really good time. They put a huge effort into the party and I can only recommend it! The list goes on...

Not What Was Advertised
We booked a 10 day kite cruise and were given an itinerary of the "amazing and beautiful" kite spots we would anchor at and kite. We only went to 3 of the 7 different spots that were advertised. We did not anchor overnight in any of the spots other than the crowded harbor of Union Island. This trip was NOTHING like what is advertised. We paid extra for a "chef" who didn't know the first thing about preparing meals. The owner has 2 boats. He visited and hung out on one and never came to visit us to say hello or see how we were doing. Our captain was amazing and was one of the positive things about the trip. Some of the spots were beautiful to kite but we only kited 3 of the 7 spots we were promised. We anchored in Union every single night and it was dull. Nothing like what was advertised. We paid extra for a "chef" to prepare our meals and provide snacks. It was pretty bland and poor tasting food. The trip was advertised as eating fresh fish, vegetables, etc. however this was not the case. Snacks were literally junk food placed in a bowl for us. The pictures advertised on the website must be for show only because the only time we had a decent meal was when we went to a small island where we purchased lobster and had it prepared by the locals.Very disappointed in what was delivered. I would absolutely not recommend this trip to anyone. Also be prepared for HEAVY seas during your sail from where you embark to where you anchor. Everyone on board got sea sick and all of us are boaters so go figure. Our bathroom toilets over flowed twice during the trip and you can imagine what that looked like in the bathrooms. Sheets were not changed. No clean towels were provided at any point during the trip other than the ones we had in our cabins from the first day. When we would come on board there were no snacks prepared. Literally nothing that was advertised was provided for. 2 entire days are wasted from your point of departure to your arrival because you will lose 1 day traveling to Union Island and another day leaving Union Island. Why we didn't just meet the boat in Union Island is beyond me. It would have literally added 2 days to our trip. The biggest disappointment is the false advertising of the kite spots we were supposed to go experience. I cannot stress this enough that out of 7 that were listed on our itinerary we only kited 3 spots. Fregate was the most fun and was beautiful. Union is drab and is 100% reef so if you wipe out you're gonna' get nice reef rash. Fortunately we were all very experienced kiters so no one paid the price. Still...kiting and anchoring in only Union Island was a major let down.We weren't expecting a 5 star experience by any means but we were expecting to get what we paid for as well as what was advertised. I will never book this trip again and I would not recommend this trip to anyone.Hi JimmyIt is very sad to read this review as we strive to give the best possible service to our guests at all times. For us it is extremely important to get feedback from our guests and this is why we contact everyone after their trip with a satisfaction survey. I am wondering in your case why you did not mention anything to us at an earlier date? Are you sure that you traveled with our company? Your post was placed on November 9th and at this time our boats have been out of the water for 6 months for hurricaine season in the Caribbean. I am therefore wondering if you traveled more recently with another provider? We take any complaints very seriously and I would like to contact you to discuss this matter in more depth Unfortunately I have looked over our client list for last season and have been unable to find any passport information relating to 'Jimmy T'. Of course I understand that this could just be a pseudo and therefore encourage you to reply to this post with your name or travel dates so I can look into your complaints. If this is a genuine post and any of the points you listed are valid then I am happy to offer you compensation for your trip. Our mission is to give kitesurfers a truly amazing experience, and nothing less is acceptable....

When you want to do it all in one day captain Sebastian is the one. We went trolling and caught a Baracuda in 15 minutes, he then took us to a private island, filet and grilled our fish, plantain, potatoes , home made salad and dressing from his garden with smoked marlin he caught day before, then banana flambay for desert. Then on to Myreaux , what an amazing little island, them on to Tobago Cays for swimming with the Sea Turtles. He always put the kids first, never watched a clock and basically lets us stay and go for as long as we wanted for ever stopThanks everyone, I had a great time also with you guys ! We visited the Grenadines in early January. I arranged a kite boarding lesson on Mayreau for my husband. The lesson was scheduled for the time we would be staying at the newly reopened Salt Whistle Bay. Nicholas and his staff were great - he even met with us on Union Island early in our stay to answer questions and arrange logistics. The instructors came to Salt Whistle Bay with equipment for the lesson and were not only patient, but a lot of fun. I think we're now hooked on kiteboarding and Happy Kite will be the first ones we call when we return with the whole family next year.
