You can have any colour you like as long as it's black....

Back here again on our recent trip to Bobo - and things haven't changed much! You get the menu, choose the meal then after some minutes the waiter returns to let you know whether they have what you want, which is usually 'no'. Having said that, despite the slow service, it's still pretty good food and 'safe' for the visitor to eat. Functional rather than exciting.

Havenly Dinner

Within the trouble of Bobo-Dioulasso there is an oasis - L'Eau Vive. Lovely French Cuisine, served in a covent by nuns from all around the world.

Good food

Though I've not stayed here, I've eaten here a few times. Have really enjoyed the great Italian fare on offer. The poolside seating offers great relaxation after a hard day's work. A real oasis in Bobo Dioulasso.

bon maquis

Lunch in Bobo

While in Bobo, I had lunch at this restaurant. It was very good. The captain fish was the best I've had in Bobo. If your nearby, I would highly recommend it.

Good pastry but eat-in menu was lacking. Friendly staff.

I would recommend this place for brunch (upstairs) or a quick ice cream of pastry snack (downstairs). We went during lunchtime. There was only one waitstaff at that moment who was serving several tables. He was super friendly and patient but overwhelmed. Poor guy. I was disappointed however that on the menu, only 20% of items were actually available. The waiter had to come several times to let us know that items we had ordered were not available. Understandable enough but I wish they would let customers know ahead of time what is actually available. The omelets we ended up ordering were really just average. The nem was average and it didn't even come with a dipping sauce. They did not even have milk when I ordered it so I can add my espresso in it. So, I think it would be best to come in for pastry or ice cream. If you want to eat, make sure you ask what is actually available first.
