Chock full of goodness
Super location on the harbour...great for sunset viewing though not the cloudy night we were there. However the hospitality and ambience made up for that. Clive and his wife are excellent hosts and his staff friendly and efficient. We loved the green/red idea!! Clive has been in the food industry forever ....he chooses the fish, chicken etc every day. We gorged on a huge salad for me and prawn cocktail for him, followed by kingklip and prawns for me and Hake for him. Delicious ...we could taste the ocean. It was very busy and it’s easy to see why. I want to go back for Clive’s curry.

Vodka Flambe Calamari - what a culinary delight
After walking in the beautiful the Irma Booysen Reserve we pitched up on a Saturday not long after 11am for an early lunch. We were welcomed warmly, took a table around the pool and quickly furnished with a crispy white to slake our thirst. I had the most delicious Vodka Falmbe Calamari - a large stuffed calamari tube that burst forth with a delicious filling that I just couldn't get enough of. My husband had the ribs, which he said were good but he was sorry he didn't order my dish. Such a wonderful change to find something different on a menu, well done to the chef at Joe Fish....

You're missing out if you don't go!
My husband and I came to Start Francis Bay for one night and ate here. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. Atmosphere is relaxed. We went on a Tuesday and there was a poker game going on with some locals, apparently this is a regular Tuesday thing but do not let that put you off, I'm so glad we didn't allow it to put us off. Highly recommended this place.

Quick lunch bite
We had a quick lunch here with friends. The pizza was good but the drinks were a bit tricky. After not being able to order coffee or tea we opted not to order drinks (their one coffee machine was apparently broken). After what looked like the manager then switching the machine on, we were then offered coffee and tea :/Yes, I will still recommend this bar though :)

We had the unfortunate experience of visiting this restaurant over the holiday season. Phoned early to book for an extended family and arrived on time. Our young waitress was excellent and did her best. The restaurant was NOT FULL but our food took over an hour and a half to be prepared. When asked why the take away orders were being done continuously before any patron orders, the shocking owner replied that we should perhaps go elsewhere! The waitress was then in tears after the kitchen forgot one of the orders. Will never return and neither should you. Perhaps they live up to their name “Pomme Frittes” order chis only. So sad, great staff but shocking owner! No apology offered and this just sucksI Have investigated the issue outlined above and have found the comments are not based on fact but leans more towards exaggeration. I am not sure if you know how a restaurant runs but all food orders are dealt with in time sequence which means that tickets that are in front of another's time wise will get filled first. All customers' take away or sit down, are dealt with in this way. In my experience most of our guests understand that during the busy peak season the food service coming from the kitchen could be slower than in normal time but unfortunately there are one or two that don't. Having spoken with you this morning it is a shame that the "fact" that you enjoyed the food seems to be missing as is the "fact": that once the error of your missing dish was discovered it was quickly rectified and that you were not charged for it.RegardsTamara Webster(Owner)
10. Lighthouse Restaurant at The St. Francis Links

Ate in this restaurant for 2 dinners and had a bar lunch probably prepared from the same kitchen. The Links clubhouse hosted an annual St. Francis bridge tournament and the lunch and dinners were prepared by The Lighthouse. Dinners were served timeously and hot for the number of people involved. First dinner of one huge chicken drumstick and plain rice lacked flavour and imagination. Granadilla dessert pitiful. The 2nd dinner was really good - fish and risotto followed by a lemon dessert. Had a good hamburger and chips in the bar. Look forward to next time.
