Back at Chicho Hotel

Chicho is a small, quiet place in the centre of Marsabit Town. It has 9 clean double rooms, all self-contained with hot shower. Food can be ordered in advance (2 hours) and is absolutely delicious. Whether we had chicken, lamb or beef it was always very tasty. Breakfast is continental with eggs according to your wishes. The place is run by the young generation of a local family. These young people manage to create a homely atmosphere and are most helpful in whatever you want to know and do in the area. I have stayed at Chicho at least five times and have never been disappointed.

Family outing

I have visited Pace Gardens a few times and enjoyed it each time. My children really have fun in the kids play area, and it is strategically located so that it is in good view of the dining area. I liked the fact that there is also someone full time to look after the kids as they play. The food was tasty, moderately priced and the service good. The gardens are beautiful and the views across the plains stunning.I would however recommend that an arrangement is made to cater for guests if it rains.

You enter through a small arcade; the dining area being upstairs from where one can survey the bustling town and busy traffic. The restaurant is clean and food and drinks are basic. There are many moderately priced Kenyan dishes. Service is fast and the staff aim to please.
