Came here with the family after a session of bowling , made the mistake of not booking but managed to get a table in the bar that we could order food, food and drinks ordered at the bar, tables were very high in comparison to the chairs which made eating uncomfortable for the youngsters , as the restaurant emptied a table become available in the restaurant and since our food hadn’t arrived we asked to move which wasn’t an issue , food came promptly and was amazing , love the choice of South American food and we all tried Something different , now this is the crux , waiting staff wouldn’t clear the table or take our dessert order , we were told we had to go back to the bar , we also had to clear our own table of plates onto another table before it was cleared by a rather disgruntled manager ( if looks could kill ) , shame really cause there was nothing else wrong with the place , lovely atmosphere and the poor old barman kept apologising for keeping us waiting which wasn’t an issue , anyhoo love to give the place a 5 so maybe on our next visit , maybe not to cribs maybe try the one in bath instead !

The waiters greeted us very nicely and sat us down. The table was clean however you are sitting literally right next to other couples and families, so much so you can hear their conversations! The waiter was very nice and polite and came and sat right next to us when we ordered. The meal was extremely quick and even came before our drinks. I even thought it was a bit too quick as our family didn’t even have time to talk that much but anyhow it was very quick service. The food was extremely nice and delicious. The prices are quite high but the portions are very big and very filling. We asked for the bill and the lady was very polite and quick as we said we were in a rush. It overall was a very nice meal. I recommend the chicken ramen as it is very simple but tasty and big... But I have given it a 4/5 as the meal was even a bit too quick to come and the tables were too close together but overall very good .

Despite booking on spec on a Saturday night, they bent over backwards to accommodate us. The welcome was charming & warm. The atmosphere was pleasant. Lively without being noisy, quiet without being sterile. The food was absolutely delicious. The menu was small, but this gave focus to the food they did serve. Definitely ‘less is more’. There were also specials which were explained well by the waiter. The service was attentive & timely. All in all, a good experience & I would highly recommend.

Reading published reviews we looked forward to a special lunch at Cafe Rouge. As the cafe is French in style we chose a French main course of Moules Frites. (Marinieres)Disappointing. The mussels were generous but over steamed which made them rather tasteless and rubbery, served in an under seasoned sauce that should have had white wine and shallots (or at least finely chopped onions in it) with lots of parsley and a dash of cream. Our sauce was over creamy and had hardly a hint of fish stock or wine. Frites perfect!Very reasonably priced, just disappointing on quality this time. Will go back to try other meals - we enjoyed excellent, swift service and a great atmosphere.

Nice place, service could be better
Booked a table for a Thursday night at 6.30 & glad we did as it got really busy. I had read reviews that mentioned cash only but forgot so the sign on the door was handy & I popped to the atm inside the co-op. Great menu choices. We ordered drinks & waitress asked if we wanted ice we said yes & then never got any! When we ordered the food we asked for forks & never got any! The waitress only cleared a few dishes away before the main course arrived, leaving no room to serve the next course .Other than those annoying services issues we had a lovely meal which was great value for money.

Awful customer service
There was four of us and we had a table booked for 19:30 and arrived at 19:40 (usually tradition to walk into a curry house a little late when you’ve been into the pubs nearby). We’re all locals that usually use this curry house but on this occasion none of the staff looked too familiar. Two of us walked in and mentioned what looked like to be the manager, that we had a table booked and he looked confused from the very off. Almost like they’d forgotten to have a table ready for us. He was almost insinuating that we didn’t have a table booked and told us to grab a seat on the side along with many others that seemed to be in the same position. He then said to us that he had our booking and he knew about it by saying ‘it was a table for 2 wasn’t it?’, which explained all as it was actually a table for 4 but he tried to blag it in the moment because he only saw two of us in front of him. I found this ready odd and proceeded to open the booking diary that was laying on the side. I opened it to the current date and noticed that our booking name and time was in there and that it had been ticked off???I questioned this to where the manager became very agrresive and angry. He told us to take a seat and we’d be seated soon as I could see a table physically being prepared in the background. When I questioned him on this he said that he had given our table away because ‘we were late’. I’ve neved known a restaurant to give away a table because somebody was 10 minutes late. I always thought the norm was around the 30 minute mark but these guys must run a strict show. I asked if we could have a complimentary drink (cheeky, I know) as a goodwill gesture for the mix up so we could forget about it, whereby he said ‘nothing is complimentary in here’. Absolutely appalling customer service to try and suggest that we; 1) hadn’t booked 2)assuming we were wrong 3)giving away a table (that he had no idea of) away after 10 minutes 4)didn’t want to try and make it better for the good of everybody I’m all for supporting local nearby independent restaurants but we decided to take our custom to Maniks up the road instead, who treated us excellently. How a customer should be treated. I won’t be visiting this place anytime soon again, even with it being so close to my house.

Wasn’t expecting great things and in that respect I wasn’t disappointed. Our starter came in a skillet so should have been sizzling hot...it wasn’t even warm so that went back and ten minutes later the replacement arrived but as a dish of mushrooms and cheese in a sauce it was distinctly underwhelming. My main was ok, but hard not to cock up two burritos filled with bits of chicken. However, quite dry and a smidgen of cheese on top. Could’ve done with being hotter as just over warm. My wife’s ribeye steak was the sort of material Doc Martins would be proud of on the bottom of one of their boots. Quite a feat to make a ribeye tough. So again this went back and again whilst three of us were almost finished the replacement came, better this time but not a great steak and they should be looking at their meat supplier. To be honest I also blame the “chefs” for even sending out the first one because just looking at it most chefs would not serve it. We had a word with the manageress and she did take the cost of the starter and the steak off the bill but the experience was just not enjoyable. Would I recommend this place? No, would I go back, no, never. Very disappointing.

We went back to this Indian after a period off and were very impressed indeed. Food is by far the best in the area. Ranges of flavours and heat reallly indicate a good chef and no ‘standard sauce’. Staff very helpful and positive. We took away but it was good value for money. Will be back. Dear sir/Madam,Thank you for your kind review and I am glad to hear that you have enjoyed our food and service under our new management. It’ll be a pleasure to see yourself again either in the takeaway or restaurant and we look forward to making your dining experience pleasurable.
