A wonderful find in the Slovenian wine country - highly recommended

We were directed to this lovely venue when touring the beautiful Slovenian wine country. It is a beautiful classic building offering fine dining and winetasting. It is the best place to sample many of the wines produced in this area. We enjoyed tasting and snacking and had a difficult time deciding which of the many fine wines we wanted to bring back to the US. The venue would be suitable for weddings or conferences as well. The drive to reach it was beautiful and the castle was a delightful reward. If you are visiting Slovenia, we highly recommend spending a day here.

Over the top of the hill

Nicely located on the hills surrounding the Preval plane this restaurant/pizzeria/multiplay courts structure offers a view on sunset and wineyards during dinners. Good fish and salads served with extremely tasty pizza bread (a bit too garlic in fact). Big portions at reasonable prices. Staff very kind and multilingual. Enjoy!

A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing lunch

We stopped off here by chance on Sunday afternoon. The place was totally packed but we managed to get a table for 2 outside and I'm so glad we did. The service is so friendly and it was extremely efficient too, especially considering the amount of guests they had. We had some cold meats and cheeses as a starter which was fully satisfying. Then i had the pasticcio of asparagus which was very, very tasty and my husband took blecs (typical friulian pasta) with cheese, which he adored. Then we took a frico and a portion of potatoes...both fantastic. My husband finally took the palacinka with nutella. A simple crepe but again well prepared and tasty. We also had a litre of house wine (very enjoyable), a litre of water, a coffee and two digestive drinks...all for 39 euros. Unbelievable value for such a lovely and filling meal in a beautiful setting with a lovely smiling waitress. I can't wait to come back!

Superb Sunday lunch

Absolutely incredible views from outside - we were so lucky we had lovely weather so we could appreciate the cherry, peach, olive and fig orchards. We had an incredible homely traditional meal with accompanying wines. The meat was made over an open fire - you can watch it being cooked inside. We were all well fed and watered by the end. A simply beautiful place.

Cold Prosecco on the Terrace followed by wonderful food

Cold Prosecco on the terrace after a long hot hike! I was in heaven especially when they started to serve small bites to go with the Prosecco. We were hiking with a group and had lunch arranged in advance. The food was amazing - we started with zucchini pastry balls served with onion rings, pasta with tomato and basil, pasta with duck raghu. They then served a vinegar sorbet to cleanse the palate which was lovely. Then onto guinea fowl served with thinly sliced peaches. For desert peaches cooked in wine with peach sorbet.

you need to try it :)

in Friuli one eats - and drinks - generally very well. but as far as agriturismi go this one was an absolute treat. nestled atop a hill overlooking the wineyards of corno di rosazzo, a terroir producing some of the best wines in Europe to say the least, this places - only open on Thursdays and weekends, but do double check - offers great food (exceptional meat), and amazing wine. not too big, it has a cozy first seating area with wood fire stove, a second area which is a veranda with stunning view, and outside seating which I can only imagine would be perfect in the good season. I was there with friends of the manager and regular customers, so my comment on service would be biased, needles to say we had a great experience. recommended!
