Walked in early doors without reservation and was welcomed very warmly. The owner went through the menu and specials in great detail. The food arrived quickly and was up there with the best fish cuisine I can remember having anywhere. Great wine recommendation and excellent value.

Lovely food and amazing service
I visit NV-80 every year when I am in Sea Point. It seems to get better each time. The service is friendly and efficient, everyone greets you as you walk in so you feel instantly welcome. This time we had the salmon tartare which was a special with an asian dressing and it was substantial and incredibly tasty. The chilli prawns are always good. I always go for the oysters with Vietnamese dressing which were as good as ever. While there is wide choice for main courses, you really should go for steak. Their meat is fabulous and there's a wide array of sides to choose from. I asked for a tomato salad which wasn't even on the menu and got a beautiful one. A great night out.

The menu is small and you share for two. The cost was R750 for the mael for both of us.The food and flavours was awesome. There was more than enough for both of us.Three different areas for seating. Dark area in front and then a more light area where you can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen. Lovely garden area at the back with seating.Well worth it and we will definitely go back when in Cape Town again.

A breakfast gift to myself
Although their menu does have lunch offerings which sound delicious, so far we haven't eaten our way through all the enchanting breakfast options! We have even started treating it like a 2 course affair, ordering something savoury and then sharing something sweet to finish with. (Banana bread with espresso butter, Flapjacks with candyfloss or Brioche French toast- YUM!) And you won't find any complaints about that! They do get super busy so some times you need to be a little patient but the staff are lovely and will get you asap.It also gets a little loud when its full so some people may struggle to hear what they companions are saying, but that's just because everyone has something good to say about the food!

BEST LAMBSHANK EVA .......
highly recommended ... whether it is beef, lamb or fish ..... I was presented with the most delicious melt in the mouth Lamb shank ... there was a choice of Chateau Briande also my favourite ..... or fillet on the bone.... rump steak, all dishes absolutely well presented and tantalising on the taste buds ..... a must try for the discerning meat lovers. Vegetable skewers added colour and taste to all the tasty dishes ..... so much food ... you have to go for a walk on the promenade to let it settle in all the right places. Delicious prawn and avo cocktail and rounded off a delectable warm chocolate drink with added alcohol settling in with all the rest of the delicious dishes. A must try for anyone local or foreign visitors... for the family for the businessman or the romantic couples. Very seldom I leave an eatery feeling so totally satisfied with everything and served with a friendly smile by all. Good ambience ... good experience ... Fantastic food .... Thank youDear Vallerie M,Thank you for such high praise on our lamb Shanks, I will definitely express your joy to our crew that did the preparations. Another nice surprised, book the restaurant as it was in the list of the best restaurants in cape town but the information in the net leave much to imagination. Had dinner there and food was amazing definitely going there on my next holiday.Opted for the 3 course menu as I believe for dinner a long course menu is too much, wine was recommended by the waiter and was perfect also, it has a cozy/romantic environment and food is very well conceived .Price is reasonable for a fine dinning and worth the waiting list

Had lunch herr twice with 4-year old son. Ambience is nice, friendly homely atmosphere. Service quick and good first time, second they giot a few things wrong but quickly forgiven. We had calamari with salad first time and although calamari not best ever they where good, and salad really nice, with feta cheese and some other things to make it more interesting. Second time husband and i had burgers, chicken and beef, and they where nice with good flavours and combinations. Little one had chicken strips- no kiddie menu but they do half portions if you ask. All in all two very good lunches!Hi Jessica,Thank you so much for your wonderful review, we really appreciate the generous rating as well as the constructive feedback on how and where we need to improve. My team & I will endeavour to tweak where we need to and hope to wow you on your return visits.Kind regardsDylan

Hit the right spot
Visited here without booking on a very gusty evening. Having not been here before, could not get past the Tapas menu so on the advice of a very friendly, humorous and efficient waitron, Michael, we shared a number of tapas dishes. Delicious. Service was impeccable even though there were many large groups and the wind was doing its best to blow us all away! Will be back.
