Between us we enjoyed starters of calamari and smoked fish, mains of plaice and turbot and shared a blackberry and apple crumble. Having been before (too long ago!!) we anticipated an excellent meal and were not disappointed. Great quality ingredients beautifully cooked, very friendly staff and no negatives whatsoever!Thank you very much for the great review. The smoked fish is locally produced and is a great addition to our starters. The turbot is an elusive, fantastic tasting fish and we have been very lucky to source it, again locally. It is always good to know when everything falls in to place and makes for a lovely evening. We hope to see you again.

Excellent food, fantastic service.
Despite 9 of us turning up slightly late for a early evening meal the service and food were first class, as always.Excellent steaks and the vegetarian option was well catered for.The highest quality standards have been consistently maintained whenever we have visited "Bar 1" , a credit to all involved.Thank you.

Spoil yourself, for not too much money.
We came here after shopping just before lunch service started at 11:30 and breakfast was still available, such choice! Even on a Monday morning it was full upstairs and so it was the first time to eat downstairs, really nice, we were on our own to chat but not left alone, the waitress didn't forget about us and the service was faultless. We started with a pot of tea for 2, so nice in a 1970's teapot and milk jug, and 2 tea cups and saucers. Nothing matches but that's so charming. I had french toast with honey nuts and creme fresh. Something different and delicious. My daughter had a tea cake and butter. All this for under £10. Such a treat without feeling guilty about the cost.

Good quality food in a relaxed dining environment with fantastic views over the harbour.

Had read good things about this establishment so booked for Sunday lunch. Very nice decor and windows overlooking the harbour, Sunday lunch menu offers good variety of choices. Some interesting starters - nicely done and very well presented. Roasts good - nicely good meat and perfectly cooked veg. Roast potatoes (advertised as duck fat cooked) were disappointing. Ok but not crispy on the outside/fluffy inside as one might expect. Chef thought it might b the potatoes. Good choice of drinks but Ale was "off" with no real alternative. Decent wine choice. Friendly and prompt service. Compared with other "carvery" offerings in the locality this wasn't as good value. Would like to try the evening a la carte.

Really Enjoyable Dinner
Visited here for the first time on a Saturday night, pre booked which is a must. We were met by friendly staff who took our coats on arrival (something virtually unheard nowadays).Customers were coming and going when we arrived, however we were shown our table and then offered a choice of drinks. Ample time then to order starters that arrived in quite large portions, 3 of us had the Moussaka for the main meal which was delicious and then followed by the Greek sweets which gave the meal a great finish. Including a bottle of wine the cost in my opinion was not expensive. The management of this restaurant have got their act together which is nice to experience, certainly will be coming back to eat here again.

We finally got an opportunity to visit Pamela's. As my partner works evenings it has been a long time coming.Everything was superb. When we walked in, we could not believe that we were still in Great Yarmouth, the service was absolutely fantastic in my opinion. The food was to die for, the decor was outstanding in every corner of the building. Highly, highly recommend. We will be returning, that is for sure. Thank you!

My other half had already treated me to a big weekend for my birthday before the actual day so I was somewhat surprised that on the actual day she also took me out to lunch. We had not previously eaten at Ambitions so I didn't know what to expect. The front of house staff were clearly nervous and unsure of themselves, hardly surprising given that they were all students. Nevertheless they did come over as polite and friendly. They were being helped out from time to time by tutors as it was still early in the year. The food was all well presented and nicely cooked. Canapés to start were dainty and tasty. The starters were generous and delicious. The soup before the main was enjoyable. The desserts provided a delightful finish to our meal. We ended our visit with a coffee and found that nearly two hours had gone by without us noticing. The standards are very high and any of the kitchen team could have been working in an ordinary restaurant already. I expect some of these students to go on to much higher levels.Thank you for your detailed review. This Thursday was the first restaurant service that the front of house students have been involved in, we were proud of the way they tackled the situation head on and during our feedback at end of evening they declared they had enjoyed the experience. We do hope we can welcome.e you back in the future.

This restaurant was formerly called Lazzarellas for which there are several Reviews existing - see the list as I informed you at the end of last year it would be closing. The new owners have improved everything. New decorations, new menu and crockery etc.

This is a small intimate restaurant, we were very warmly welcomed and it felt a very comfortable dining experience. We enjoyed the house wine, but sadly for me the food was at best average. I had a huge plate of pasta with a mediocre sauce and i expected so much more from all the glowing reviews.

Good vibe good food
Some good and interesting cocktails - good choice of beers. Steak/burgers fish but with a twist. Beautifully cooked with fresh ingredients. Burgers good and home made. Fish and chips (cod) excellent with pee puree/mint. Pork rib starter sharer could be improved - sauce was excellent but only four fairly small (albeit tasty) ribs that could have been slow cooked for fall of the bone tenderness. Good vibe and good service. Reasonable prices.Dear Malcandkaren,Thank you for your kind and detailed review. We work hard on service, quality and atmosphere. Thank you for commenting on all three. Your comments regarding the ribs are duly noted.#teamgambas
