Average, was not greeted with much joy. Service was fast. Had 2 appetizers, taco and garlic bread. We could not finish them since they were to boring. Then burgers... Very little meat, dry bread. A lot of vegetables and coleslaw which created a slobby sensation. The service was nice and the place hip. Very good selection of local beer but If you want a real restaurant, go somewhere else.

Great spot, awesome staff
Some may say that this is a cholesterol heaven (aka good grilled meat) but in all reality it's a very friendly and super tasty / local cuisine type of a place.

I was really looking forward to my visit but I can only say I was disappointed. Service was fine, but the food distinctly lacking; either overcooked, oversalted or bland. Quality of the shrimp was excellent but that of the mussels and sturgeon abominable. All in all not inedible but definitely not worth the price or pretence of fine dining. You are better of going to almost any other restaurant in the area and saving the upscale dining experience for another town

Great example of a good restaurant!
Restaurant has a feeling like home. Perfect place to have a meal, cup of coffee, read a newspaper or just chat with friends. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for a price. We really enjoyed our evening. Staff were friendly and helpful. I have never seen such a good customer service as i experienced yet. Every sunday they have brunch where everybody can find different food for their taste. They also have a food for vegetarians which is great.Good food, good music, good location. Highly recommend it.

The pear tart tartin was a joyful finis of the meal. There is a good selection of wines available. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
7. Klondaika Tex-Mex

The only tex-mex restaurant in Liepaja. There are only several in the entire country. I guess this is a fair size tex-mex restaurant network in Latvia. The owner is from Mexico. I just wanted to tell about my experience since I was super disappointed.

We stumbled over the place by chance but taken with the tex-mex feeling of the place. The restaurant has a good ambiance and served very good food. We tried the enchilada and the quesadilla, which can be highly recommended if you are into this kind of food. The prices are moderately and the dishes will make you full.

Nice place and service, but the food was questionable
Nice place in great location. Visited with my family and we ordered various things from the menu.... my fish was terrible, defrosted but not cooked ... o did enjoy the roasted potatoes ... The best thing from everything that we had was the chicken nuggets from children’s menu - luckily my nephew is way to small to finish the huge children’s portion !

Very cosy place
Surprisingly relaxing atmosphere and the staff is quite attentive. We had pork with blue cheese and Philadelphia Golden Maki sushi, both meals were nice. We came right before closing but didn't feel like we were being rushed to finish our meal and leave which we thought was very nice.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend for our night in Liepaja; she had been there a few times before and always enjoys going back, but it was the first time for me. We visited on a Tuesday evening, to find the restaurant almost empty and our choice of tables, so we sat on a comfortable booth in the corner and waited a few minutes for menus to be brought. In the meantime, the decorations were pleasant and we had a nice evening view out onto the garden outdoors. They have a large food selection, and it was difficult choosing just one dish. In the end, I went for the Liepaja-style cod and potato pot, convinced by my girlfriend to try the local speciality just once. I probably would have ordered something else, if it wasn't for the interesting snippets of local lore and stories behind most of the dishes on the well-designed menu. She decided on the honey roasted pork, and we decided to get the large cheese plate as a shared starter. We ordered a glass of wine each while we waited, and I was brought the red version of what I had asked for instead of the white that I had wanted, but that was okay; I figured that red would be better for the cheese plate, and I could order a white after, so I stuck with this. The cheese came after a while: a beautifully arranged selection of several different cheeses, from local ones all the way to Camembert and a French goat cheese. All of them were delicious, but the goat cheese was especially tasty. I ordered another glass of wine to come with the main course, and it was just as good as the first. I enjoyed the cod pot, but I probably wouldn't order it again now that I've had it once. There were quite a few bones, and a lot of potatoes compared to a relatively smaller amount of cod, but it was tasty enough. I sampled a little of the leftovers from my girlfriend's enormous pork dish though, and that was seriously tasty as well: well cooked and seasoned, with an absolutely delicious glaze. A good selection of salad was served with it, as well as a few dipping sauces that actually went really well with the potatoes from my dish as well.Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was also great throughout; a great restaurant for couples, though maybe it wouldn't do so well for families. In total, the bill came to just short of €30, which was completely reasonable for two a more upmarket restaurant.
