Nice but not cheap
Sitting in the charming old Gussago downtown, this Osteria is run by a family, with the mother in the kitchen and son and aunts serving at the tables. You have a wide choice of local specialties (casoncelli alla bresciana and tortelli with bagoss cheese, ghiottoni and paccheri among the others) as well as main dishes (angus beef, chianina steak, arrotolato di coniglio, roasted calf). Bread is good, tiramisu, panna cotta and semifreddi are home made while ice-cream are not (for a very strict law in Italy it's hard for a restaurant to produce its own ice-cream). Everything was good but nothing impressed us. We choose a very good Amarone della Valpollicella for € 28 (if you can't drink the entire bottle you can take it home), but overall the bill was quite expensive (more than € 45 per person, wine included). During winter weekends the Osteria in crowded and lousy, so better to visit it during spring and enjoy your meal in the outdoor seating.

Real Tradition? Not really...
We went to eat some specialities from Brescia as this trattoria is famous for.First of all we asked to get CAsoncelli alla Bresciana, but they didn't have them.Thye offer some ravioli with meat or with pumpkin, but these are from other regions, not from the Tradition of Brescia. Finally we took the Spiedo alla Bresciana with Polenta, the dishes for which this trattoria is famous,Big delusion. The meat was really soft and tasty, but it was completely fat, overcich of butter. Also the polenta was non up to the mark.We took also for starter some salami and Ham: these were fantastic, very nice and superb.Overall its a good restaurant, knit and clean with very kind waiters, we look at some didhse on the other tables and maybe something better is available, but yesterday we were fully satisfied. What a pity!

A delight after shopping at Franciacorta shopping outlet
We ate at Osteria dell'angelo after shopping at Franciacorta in late July. We loved the outdoor seating-rather like being in someone's garden. The meal was delightful, especially the Gnocchi with beetroot, an unexpected flavor treat. We can speak some Italian and were happy to extend our knowledge of the language via our lovely waiter. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting imaginative and delicious food.

Excellent food, service and price. You won't believe it
This was for sure one of the best meals ever in Italy or wherever.Just ask for the degustation menu (Sea or Land) and be happy. This is one of the meals you would pay hundreds of dollars if you were in NY or Paris. However, here we only paid 50 euros per person.Unbelievable!!!! Just stop by and be amazed.

Donkeys and Divine Dinner and destination
A recommendation from a fellow Motor-homer led us to this rather special venue.Three days among the vines, swimming pool to unwind but a special host and Family member Franchesca wearing the biggest smile of our holiday imparted an incredible knowledge of this Family run vineyard and intermittent Restaurant.Romantic Dinner on the terrace, but Donkey stew was "Off" as was as was Horse TagliatellaHowever the meal was fantastic as was the wine selection and the atmosphere "moody" to say the least. My way of expressing what a really great evening my Wife and I shared in this remarkable venue.Dont miss out on the wine tasting or meal if you are in this beautiful area.

Excelent local - recommended
This restaurant has atmosphere of times when real values mattered and being guest meant something. Beautiful old building, atmospheric views from big windows, furniture, choice of music, excellent personal service and food made with love. All this for price that is a little higher, but reasonable for the value. Recommended.

Taken by business friends this is really a superb dining experience. Everything about lunch was special. Staff were perfectly trained, every dish delicious, fine wines and exact service. Risotto ai fungi, their speciality was mouth watering. Rane sfrigolant fried frogs. Eur 40 which we didn't try are also recommended. Pork with hazrlnut cream. Maialino di latte alla nocciole eur 40 was perfectly cooked - perhaps the portion was a little understated. I would make a special journey to eat here again

One of the last 'true genuine' place left
I went there several time, typical warm and friendly service. Need to eat 'Bresciano', simple but tasty. Don't miss some mixed starters and CASONCELLI with the 2-3 types they do. After that go for Spiedo as well, good desserts will follow. House wine will do.Believe me, if you want to have a sunday lunch with your family or good friends, this is the place to go. Parking is a bit difficult but not impossible. You MUST book your table, there are not many and the place is always packed. For a complete meal including drinks, you will be around 25 Euro
