Great food and friendly staff

I ordered Istrian soup (which could be also as main dish because is big portion) and grilled sea bass with potato. Both dishes very delicious, tasty and nice arranged.I finished with cheescake that you shouldn't skip it!It is worth it every calories! Nice terrace with sea brezee will keep you cold in hot days. Warm atmosphere with Croatian music will chill you and calm you down. Service was on high level-waitres were fast, polite and very attentive! They made sure we were happy with food. Dogs are allowed and welcomed. I highly recommend this restaurant and definately will return!

Wonderful, coastal Croatian walled seaport fresh seafood

This quiet little restaurant on the Istrian waterfront, in the first majorAdriatic inlet below Piran and Umag, you will find this wonderful seafood house. Here we had the house favorite just called "Shells" and a fresh roasted fish. A tasty melange of all the local shellfish, simply called "Shells" and beautifully served; we also had very fresh fish caught moments before and cooked immediately. Is there anything better? Both lightly seasoned to not overwhelm the delicious seafood. Close to the beach, we ate dinner enjoying the sunset ,moderate summer temperature, wonderful service and plenty of locals on the lovely outdoor terrace. Not an American in sight. Price was right.. great value.. good local wine, freshest fish.. excellent bread and local oil.It was midsummer and walking around Novigrad, both before and after dinner, the streets were decorated with colorful umbrellas and other artistic finds, keeping the sun and heat off you, and every restaurant had a giant umbrella to keep you in the shade. A picturesque town worth the side trip.

Marina Restaurant

Marina is not a typical fish restaurant with grilled fish and calamari but the place where you will find a cuisine d' auteur. Our philosphy is to get the best out of the ingredients (fish) we can!

Don’t miss this one! One of the best restaurants in Croatia! Tasting menu with wine pairing is a single decision you need to make. For everything else Marina and Davor will take care. It is a culinary journey you will never forget! Absolutely recommended and be quick before this restaurant starts to collect Michelin stars :)

The shed

Blink and you will miss it! Only open June,July, and August this is basic good home produced food at bargain basement prices. They catch their own fish and in a mixed fish grill you will find smaller and more unusual fish than elsewhere, giving you some fantastic flavours. They make their own olive oil, wine and grappa. This place is alfresco dining on tables grouped round a shed. Great for families on a budget, buy some wine and grappa to take home too.

Can’t live up to their prices

Restaurant looks fancy, service is good. Menu is not that easy to read (many pages, dishes not sorted). I ordered a steak medium-well and received it bleu. Also ordered wine, waiter filled glasses at the table which is nice, but it was the last of the bottle and glasses were not equally filled. I am used to fine dining in my country, would not recommend this place.

Very dissapointed

We decided to visit this restaurant after reading some good reviews on tripadvisor. What should i say, i expected that we would have nice dinner with good food. We choose homemade bakalar which was very tasty but the portion was big enough for two people not one, my friend has tipical sheep cheese which was ok. After i took scallops from grill and they ware old - smal and made in normal oil not in olive oil which was disgusting, she had pasta with proschuto - only oil no souce. The staff is nice and friendly but the food was not eatable. I'm sorry Konoba Nino that was the worst food we eated in this region.

gut choice

We visit this place for late lunch. When we entered the place was full, but they find us a small free table. Staff is very polite and friendly. The food was nice, specially home made pasta and we also like seafood salad and small stuffed chili with anchovy. They definitely can improve open red wine.

Go here if you want authenic food

We wanted to try local food and found the restaurant through tripadvisor. What can you eat? Fish and "real" meat. The portions are big - the flavours are fantastic. They have diffenent sharing platters. We took the istrian sharing platter as appetiser and the fish sharing platter as main. What can you NOT eat here? The menu of the day says it all; NO PIZZA - even kids burger has been taken from the menu. Children also eat fish and meat.Price: we where with 7 and paid 230 euro. Very nice price / quality - expensive if you see the prices of the pizza restaurants :-)If you want to "wine & dine" in Novigrad, this is the place to be!Thank you very mich for your kind words. And we are really glad that you enjoyed our food. We hope to see you soon again.Thank you.

The best truffle experience!

From the view - there restaurant is nothing special, but the food and personal are just amazing! We ordered all with truffle (ravioli, meet and even desert was with fresh truffle). We thought we know truffle, but appeared we never tried fresh one. Both owners were very nice and explained us everything, incl. the cultivation of truffles - we really appreciate the personal touch of the restaurant! Also servants were very nice and helpful and smiley:)The bill was not cheap, but it definitely worth though! If we visit this city, definitely will eat there again!Dear guests, Thank you for so nice and kind review about your experience with our truffle specialties and service. We hope to see you soon again.
