Great value for the family

We have been here a few times as it has something for everyone . My children decided to take Dad here for Father's Day which was a $20 buffet with a small selection on the buffet menu this family run business did there best to keep pumping the food out . It was Amazing value . My usual favourite here is the goat and the mango chicken curry . This is a BYO restaurant . Don't be put off if you don't like Indian . None of us were fans until this local gem popped up .

Port Kennedy Tavern

Never again

We arrived fairly early (5:30) for a family dinner. The tavern has been hit and miss before but this visit was beyond a joke.We were approached right away to place our order. We hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu so we asked for a couple of minutes. 15 minutes later nobody came back so we had to ask a wait person to place our order. We sat and waited another 30 minutes for our food, while we sat and watched several other groups of people come in, be seated, be served their food. Nothing for us.The 3 worst things about this:We had a 2 and 3 year old with us, who by now were starving. They didn't even bother to bring our drinks out to sip on while we waited patiently for our food.We were sat directly next to where the kitchen was, so we watched the staff walking in and out right past us, over and over without even a glance from them.We felt completely invisible. At no point was the restaurant busy, and their was several empty tables. No excuses for being "run off their feet".For the first time in our life, we got up and left. Enough is enough. It's a shame because this could be a great place, but after that experience we'll never be back.

Fish and chips

The best fish and chips store we have found in a long time. Great value and price and reminds me of the olden days 'corner store' with the rows of lollies.

Birthday Celebration

This is a top choice for families, and also for couples. The service can’t be faulted. Entree came out very quickly & was absolutely delicious. After 20 min waiting for our main course we were shouted drinks with apologies. At other restaurants we’ve waited far longer for mains!! Glad we booked ahead, this place is full of happy customers. Well done guys, as always a great night out

Last time, delicious. This time, you couldn't even taste the cauliflower. We came here from Mandurah especially, after great food here last time. I also a tumeric bliss ball - had difficulty breaking into it - hard as!! Very disappointing. Son had a burrito which was edible. Last visit.

No words...

Reading the negative comments some people need a reality check.... Been in Port Kennedy for 12years and not one of the surrounding chippies in the Rockingham Area come close to what Ann and Pete supply at the Chippy.Proper cooked chips and not frozen, delicious Fish, and other Sundries they provide.Friendly Staff always good for a laugh, gets my thumbs up.... And always will.I would recommend the chippy to anyone that asks.Keep up the good work Ann and Pete... Long live the Chippy Hi there Thank you for taking the time to give such a great review. We work hard to provide fresh produce at a decent price. As I always tell the staff manners cost absolutely nothing! Am sure you being regular customer you’ll know we love a wee bit of banter. Hope to see you in again soon. The Chippy Team

Give Honey Chicken a Miss

The dine-in decore was rather plain and unappealing (no seated customers at 6pm on this week night) so we had takeaway. No spring rolls were available. The honey chicken disk was awful - strips of dry, battered chicken. The curried chicken & veg was in a thick creamy sauce. Unlikely to return here - much better to travel the distance to Mei Jing Mandurah's very best Chinese restaurant

consistantly fresh food

We frequent here often although at times the service can be slow there is always an apology which I find refreshing these days as it doesn't take much to be polite, lovely staff. The food is always fresh not like some other take away options that reheat or give you clod food. I find Red Rooster Port Kennedy consistent with there friendly staff and fresh food. A refection of good management.
