Top 10 Seaham, England foods
Seaham, formerly Seaham Harbour, is a small town in County Durham, situated 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Sunderland and 13 miles (21 km) east of Durham. It has a small parish church, St Mary the Virgin, with a late 7th century Anglo Saxon nave resembling the church at Escomb in many respects. Very good, different and tasty
Wasn't sure about eating clean beans but I'd heard good reports so gave it a try the other lunchtime. Hey, it's not bad at all. Certainly different, and not at all faddy. Chicken Pan haggerty was good, creamy crispy topping with broccoli and chicken coated in a thick gravy and the Rainbow Dukka Chicken, a new one to me but it turned out to be pretty good too, a slab of roasted chicken breast sitting on a plate of properly cooked vegetables: a very filling dish.Lots more on the menu so plenty more to choose from on our next visit.

Lovely little seaside restaurant with best chips ever
We took out our mother for her lunch with the grandchildren. There is seating downstairs and upstairs. When it is sunny or school holidays book ahead. Very generous portions and crisp batter on fish. Great mushy peas. Gammon and eggs were fantastic. They are renowned for their chips which are verging on roasties. Really lovely staff and a happy mum.

Tasty Sunday Lunch
Visiting Seaham, we were looking for a good Sunday lunch. We tried Humbles where we have enjoyed a good lunch before, but there was approx and hours wait. We walked along the seafront a little further to the Lamp Room. It was busy when we arrived with 2 people waiting. We were advised there could be a 15 minute wait. It didn’t feel like 15 minutes we were seated. We ordered quickly and were advised that there may be a bit of a wait as the kitchen was busy. Again it only felt like 10 or 15 minutes at the most and the food arrived. My wife ordered beef and I ordered lamb. It most certainly wasn’t your classic stewed, mass produced Sunday lunch. Well cooked food with massive Yorkshire puddings. Staff were very attentive all the way through, assuring us we wouldn’t have to wait long, serving us quickly with a smile.Very good experience and would definitely come back.

We arrived and were quickly taken to our table in a comfortable corner. We were given menus and ordered some drinks, after 10 minutes the waiter took our order, he was very friendly. We ordered vegetable spring roll for starter they were cooked perfectly but sadly a little bland. Our main course of a Thai Red king prawn curry & a chicken Thai green curry were really beautiful fragrant fresh and tasty. The rice was perfect! The restaurant was very busy the atmosphere was lively, the waiter was very professional and waited on our table very well. In all we had a great leisurely lunch.

We just popped in on spec without a booking & weren't too hungry, so just had poppadoms & pickles followed by mains. As usual, poppadoms & pickles were good, always plenty pickles & not those silly little portions you sometimes get. Mains of chicken shashlik & chicken Korai bot were excellent, with a nice thin paratha as I'd asked for. Great hospitality & service as usual.

We have just visited this restaurant for a special family meal. I was very disappointed and appalled. We tried to order fish, lamb, three types of burgers, steak pie only to find that they had nothing left. Shocking. We then asked for the beef sandwich only to be told they had no buns. The waitress let slip that she had had to pop to the local Tesco for buns and cheese. We then eventually ordered what was left and when the meals came they had forgotten to bring the starter. I pointed out that the starter should have come first but they did not seem bothered saying that they could hold the main meal for that person whilst the others had mains. Unbelievable. A shambles. Why did they take the drinks order when they new we would not be able to order 35% of the menu. We would have gone elsewhere. Thank you for leaving this review.Due to volume of customers we found we did run out of a few things on the menu, however, there was alternative chooses on the menu that still were available. We did over 600 covers on the weekend and unfortunately ran out of the more popular dishes. The members of staff were not aware of the shortages at the time you ordered your drinks. We are extremely apologetic for all of the issues you had encountered on that night and we do hope you come back to give us another try.

Very average fish and chip shop. Fish was a little tiddler that many of the towns fishermen would have thrown back. Not enough chips but then serving girl spoilt it by putting on far too many batter scraps. Yes we asked for batter, just didn’t expect to get more batter than chips!
