Nakasendo Walking Trail

Nice walk especially in great weather

We really enjoyed our walk on a beautiful spring day with the blossoms out.The walk between Magome and Tsumago was much, much easier than we expected (ie 2-2.5 hours at a fairly slow pace). In fact we were a little disappointed that it wasn’t a bit more c

Wow - incredible during cherry blossom season

We visited here in mid April when the cherry blossoms were just past their peak (lots of blooms and petals falling like snow). The entire hillside was covered in forests of cherry blossoms when you walk up the hill from the lower car park.Great views of t

Amazing hike and we loved each of the sceneries. We met some lovely people on the way to the hike. You can stop and take amazing photos.

石の博物館はめずらしく子供も楽しめる

リンゴ狩りの飯田から、車で1時間弱で行けます。この地区は石の産地で、その博物館は全国的にも珍しいと思います。入場料:800円で宝石探し:800円になりますが、小学生なら宝石探しが面白いです。(係員が時々宝石を散らしており、その場所がポイント)

Chicory Village

This is the theme park of a western vegetable - chicory. Chicory Village has the first large-scale cultivation facility of chicory in Japan and the first chicory shochu brewery in the world. You can have a taste of chicory, then a free tour of the facility and shochu brewery every 30 minutes. You will see how chicory grows in the fully dark room and learn how chicory shochu is made. After that, please enjoy our chicory shochu between 25 and 40 degree. Also, you can enjoy more than 70 dishes and drinks in our countryside homemade restaurant during lunch time. We welcome you with healthy homemade dishes , cooked with local fresh vegetables.

Viewpoint at the top of Magome

Just an open area at the top of the hill on the Magome main street (where it heads out of Magome towards Tsumago). Good views over some valleys to Mt Ena. You'll see it whether you're walking the trail or just walking to the end of Magome.

Nice

Just like te rest of this beautiful village, also this gets you in the feel of old Japan. This wheel is a nice special. Looked like it has been there for ages with the water stream.

VERY HELPFUL

Provides helpful information for both short & long stays in Magome. Also the drop-off point for sending-on your back-packs/suitcases before heading off on the Nakasendo Walk which we'd HIGHLY recommend if you haven't used it in Japan previously.Perfectly

江戸時代の宿場町をモチーフにした道の駅?

馬籠宿と妻籠宿を見学した後に立ち寄りました。江戸時代の宿場町をモチーフにした道の駅で、ゴールデンウィークのためほぼ満車状態でした。地元で作られたお酒、お漬物、馬肉、お菓子などがたくさん陳列されていました。ちなみに、妻がお漬物数点を購入しました。焼きたての五平餅やピザも食べられますよ
