Kuttralam or Kuttalam, Spa of South India, is a panchayat town situated at a mean elevation of 160 m (520 ft) on the Western Ghats in Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu, India. Many seasonal and few perennial rivers such as the Chittar River, the Manimuthar River, the Pachaiyar River and the Thamirabarani River originate in this region. The numerous waterfalls and cascades along with the ubiquitous health resorts in the area have earned it the title the Spa of South India. The falls carry a good amount of water only when there is a rain on the hills. The season begins from June of every year till September. The South West Monsoon brings in the cold breeze with mild temperature. From October to December North East Monsoon sets over in Tamil Nadu and the climate is cold and the rains are very heavy sometimes. Sometimes the falls get flooded and people are not allowed to take bath during floods.

If you are Parotta lover, this is THE PLACE you have to visit. The place is usually crowded. They serve hot mouth watering parottas. The complimentary gravy (without any meat) is awesome. They also serve chicken, quail & briyani (I have not seen anyone eating briyani),When you order chicken, you can ask them to cut it and fry again with pepper. its mouth watering.You can order some seasonal fruit as desert. the place is very crowded & be sure to ask for fresh hot parottas

we had lunch, dinner and breakfast at maurya's. on all the three occassions, the food was excellent and the staff very very helpful. they also have bakery items and indian sweets and snacks - all of them are their own manufacture. a very good and clean place with nice staff

Food they serve is Ok.After the construction of the railway Bridge driving to this restaurant is bit cumbersome.
