A scent of history and former grandness
This is where the castle once stod that was made famous in the movie "En kongelig affære" or "A Royal Affair" staring Mads Mikkelsen and Alicia Vikander. You don't see the castle, but the surrounding garden and the atmosphere is still present.

Christmas Carols in The Dead of Night
December evenings - even afternoons - can get quite gloomy in Denmark, since darkness comes creeping so very early in the day. With the barren trees, there is little to cheer you up. This is probably why Christmas decorations start earlier and earlier in

Det grønne tæppe
Skoven er fantastisk på denne årstid med alle de smukke, grønne blade. Man får fornemmelsen af, at gå under et tæppe.

Meet the stoneage hunters from Nivaa Fjord and come close to a 7,500 year old tomb and experience how they lived. In the other part of the museum you will find the magnififient story of Hirscholm Castle. The castle buildings, used by the royal family itself, were situated where Hørsholm Church now stands. Learn the outrageously story of the affair between King Christian 7'th wife and his physician J.F. Struensee. In 1771 the royal family stayed at Hirschholm Castle, and the Queen gave birth to a daughter by Struensee. In 1772 Struensee was overthrown and executed after a political trial. The royal couple divorced and Caroline Mathilde was sent into exile. The royal family never again used Hirscholm castle.

Stopped in when we were walking around the area. The exhibit of the church is mostly pictures, but there are a few items from the original castle and a couple of models of what the Castle looked like. We would have liked to have seen a marking of where th

A very nice and friendly course
This golfcourse is a small gem. Not too difficult but with some real challenges. Beautiful surroundings - placed in a protected area. The course runs in a circle around an old Danish castle. Deer is often seen on the course. Views to the sea.
