Having had an impromptu Sunday lunch here a few weeks ago, which was excellent, thought let’s try the evening menu. Oh dear, disappointed. Having purchased 2 bottles of wine to have them ‘plonked’ on the table open yourself seemed to be a bit blasé considering the cost. Had olives etc. and chicken liver pâté to start, lovely. Ordered mixed grill for 2, large portions but confused as to what was what? So many leftovers asked for a takeaway but left without just couldn’t be bothered.Service staff were not trained adequately but did a good job despite obvious training shortcomings. Typical Saturday night specials and service. Noisy music ? Why? Will not go back. Shame.

Lovely gent and great pizza, I make pizza for a living and this is one of the best I’ve tried. The gent running the establishment was so passionate about his food and business and the food was clearly cooked with love. The pecorino was yummy. Will be back soon.

I booked Hawwa for Saturday 19th January for a table for 4 at 7pm. Arrived and was seated, ordered and food came promptly. Unfortunately we were made very uncomfortable during our meal as clearly they wanted us to eat up to get the table available. A large party arrived (unsure if had booked or not) and was told to wait in the entrance room. Myself and my friend had finished and was sat talking whilst our 2 daughters enjoyed their meals. During them still eating our plates were cleared away and the bill presented to us and we were told they needed our table, whilst my daughter was still eating they started wiping down our table. We quickly paid and left the restaurant, cutting short out night catching up with friends, we weren't even asked if we wanted to order anything else. Pretty much ushered out of the restaurant.Very disappointment as have been a customer since opening, but will not be in a rush to return

Brilliant Home cooked food.
Visited this proper pub after walking across the Number bridge. Good choice of real ale, and its own brand lager, we both decided to try the Sunday Roast. Home made, it was delicious, with excellent Yorkshire, and a surprising parsnip and mustard seed mash. Great value at £7.50. Well worth visiting if around Barton

One of our favourites
This is I think our 3rd visit over a few years since it opened. Why we don't go more often is beyond me! This was a family celebration table for 12 with some requirements regarding birthday cake etc, all our requests were met perfectly. We had garlic bread with cheese to start, full of garlic and topped with cheese... Fabulous! We all ordered mains a variety of pizza and pasta. Lots of options and it all sounded great, I had pizza which was spot on and the carbanara looked spot on too! No dessert as we had birthday cake to have. Really friendly staff as always and the boss is a such a nice man.We really should go much more often!!

Great Sunday roast
We have had 3 big family celebrations here in September and October. It isn't a carvery format, but the roast is served on a plate with freshly made veg and roast. Gravy is outstanding and extra is served in jugs. There are other food options and the steak pie is a winner that can be served with veg or chips and peas.We love it here, the food is great and the staff are so warm and welcoming. The chef makes our celiac very relaxed.
