Great seafood place

I went for lunch with my family and it was a beautiful surprise! We stopped by without knowing anything about this restaurant and we had a fantastic experience. The fish is amazingly cooked, tasty and fresh. Very good selection of wine as well. The service was very good : fast and organised ; child friendly. We will go again. Highly recommended

Al Cjasal

sizing perfected

Let's start with the clever idea that Al Cjasal has implemented: you can get most of the dishes as a full portion, half portion or a bite. Excellent. With an interesting selection of dishes which changes seasonally and uses predominantly local ingredients, you don't have to sacrifise anything due to that. You know how it goes: you look at a menu in a good restaurant and have several things you'd like to try but have to choose only one.Well, we first had all possible bites - I thing there were eight or nine of them, not counting the complimentary little risotto which they prepared for a group sitting close to us and obviously get some extra which we gladly accepted.Al Cjasal likes to play with their food. The result is whimsical but not to a point of l'art pour l'art. Let me just give you one example so that there are not too many spoilers: you get a bowl of mussels. On the bottom of the bowl, there are just empty ones. On the top, there those you should eat. One half of the shell is made from a crispy, squid ink colored dough, resembling the real stuff. It is filled with baccala (salted codfish), topped with chives and other things so that it resembles a mussle. You remove the top (real) half of the shell and eat the rest in one bite. Marvellous. In taste (which counts), not only as a piece of culinary art. After the bites, we had one main dish each and just had space for one dessert. With a bottle of good local wine, water and coffee, the bill came to 145 EUR for three, which is an excellent value for both quantity and quality of the food we have.A definitive must-return when the season and menu change.

A Wonderful Seafood Restaurant

Our group of three couples had our first meal in Italy at this wonderful restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel. We were not disappointed. We each selected a different entree and they were all delicious. The zucchini blossom starter was superb. The wines compliment the food and were well priced. As it was late in the season, and cool, we were not able to enjoy the outside patio but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm and welcoming.

Great for meat eaters

This restaurant is literally just off the main road in Latislana and obviously caters for Germans as well as Italians. If you are not proficient in Italian or German then take a phrase book with you as there are no menus in English and the waitressing staff spoke very little English. We guessed what to eat and the quality was really good - there was alot of red meat if that is your preference and looked very nice. There were some set menus and pasta dishes as you would expect - I think they offered pizza although this was not on the menu. The house wine was excellent - we only paid 9 euros for it - the other white wines started at 19 euros. Two courses with a 1 litre carafe cost 55 euros. Slightly lacking in atmosphere but if it is nice food at a reasonable price then this place serves that purpose well.

Awesome place! Made a memory...

The meal was absolutely satisfying, got introduced to their signature 'scorpella' hmmm hmmm, just yummy. The service was way above what I'd expect from a Pizzeria and for the reasonable price. I'll go back every chance I get.

Great food and honest prices

Stopped here for a family lunch on our way to Lignano. We ordered spadellata with mussels and scampi, milanese (wiener schnitzel) and spaghetti all'amatricana. All the dishes ordered were cooked to perfection, and my spadellata was an absolute highlight, both aboundant and very tasty. A MUST visit if you're a seafood enthusiast. Not cheap, but a good value for money nevertheless. To make a long story short, we decided immediately that we're coming back for dinner as well. Frittura della Laguna (fried squid, schrimps and fish chunks) at 17€ might look a bit pricey at first glance, but because of the size of it, it can easily feed two. We left convinced we'd be back soon. You won't regret stopping here for a meal, I guarantee you!

Carne ottima

Locale semplice ma curato, qualità della carne scelta ottima davvero. Buona selezione di vini...unica nota il conto, a mio avviso un po’ più alto rispetto ad altri locali in linea con questo. In ogni caso mi è piaciuto e ci tornerei volentieri
