Storied lake worth visiting
Beautiful crater lake of deepest blue set up in the mountains accessed by rutted dirt roads in a village dotted with rice paddies, barley, veggie farms and the obligatory church. The geologic formation as well as the Romeo and Juliet story can be explaine

Worth a quick visit.
While walking in down town Antisirabe, we came upon the Cathedral and popped in to have a look. The cathedral is quite plain inside and nothing really all that special.

Not the better of the two lakes
Briefly visited this lake on the way to Lac Tritriva, a superb crater lake and a better lake to visit. This lake is more for the locals out for the day from Antsirabe and is pleasant enough but not really worth the time of you can go on to Lake Tritriva.

A great monument with symboles of the tribes of Madagascar
A great monument in the middle of town by the Independence Avenue in Antsirabe - facing the old railway station and the post office. All the big events of the city happen here in this area. The good hotels are also surrounding this place.

Elegant railway station with no trains
It's shut and there are no trains. The main highlight was standing outside the front watching the moped racing on a sunday afternoon. Course up and down Independence Ave. Cleared of children and animals by a policeman with a whistle as mopeds hurtled alon

Fantastic Voyage
After combing through TA reviews and contacting numerous agencies, I went with Madagascar Tropic Voyage for my magical journey through Madagascar and can do nothing but heap high praise on Lanto and his crew. It was my best car/driver/guide experience to date.I was no easy client - I was unsure of my dates and my itinerary - but Lanto was great! Despite being slammed, he walked me through best options for my interests, and adjusted my itinerary on the fly to get me most bang for buck. His lovely office staff kindly booked me in all my preferred hotels, and addressed my many questions and occasional demands with complete graciousness and professionalism. Faly, Lanto’s brother, was my guide. He was superb. I imagine guiding to be pretty repetitive but Faly was so enthusiastic and upbeat, everything felt fresh and fun - no easy task after the endless drives required to navigate Madagascar. Also, he always checked in and made sure I was well taken care of - by the hotel, by any other guides, by the driver ... after 15 months on the road, this quality’s pretty rare-trust me, especially after they’ve got your money.Highly recommend! Hard working, very customer service driven, complete delight!

Tsingys by river from Miandrivazo (starting at Antsirabe)
Recently back from a week's tour to the Tsingys with Christian:a bright young law graduate, who is now running his own Madagascan tours: impressed by his excellent organisational skills, his flexibility and his outstanding customer care - travelled with a small group, none of whom I knew beforehand. Before embarking on the boat trip and walking in the Tsingys, Christian met a special request to go cycling to the beautiful volcanic lakes near Antsirabe. For me, this turned out to be one of my Madagascan highlights. Christian is from the Antsirabe area, and was able to give us lots of fascinating information about the country, and its people. Food on the boat trip was also awesome. Highly recommended.

Very informative interesting
This cottage industry is well worth a visit, and we enjoyed the presentation very much. They demonstrate how they prepare zebu horn from the raw meat rial through to finished products including spoons and other implements. It is a simple process but very interesting to see, and naturally there is a shop where you can purchase their product.Well worth a short visit, and is located right next door to the miniatures factory.
