Chumphon (Thai: ชุมพร, pronounced [t͡ɕʰūm.pʰɔ̄ːn]) is a town (thesaban mueang) in southern Thailand, capital of the Chumphon Province and the Mueang Chumphon District. The city is about 463 kilometers (288 miles) from Bangkok. As of 2005 it had a population of 33,522. The town covers the commune (tambon) Tha Taphao completely and parts of tambons Bang Mak, Wang Phai, Na Thung, Tak Daet, and Khun Krathing. The main economic sector of Chumphon is agriculture.

Stunning Viewpoint

After being fairly disappointed with the area, we came up to this viewpoint and you can see almost 360 round at the top. It's stunning. Highly reccommend. There's a car April and a cafe and also a small temple. I would go again

Nice place to visit, temple plus shrine plus a big navy seal boat in a very clean and curate place. You can also stop on the adjacent si ree beach and have a lunch on the many beach restaurant on the promenade

Great views

Nice place to visit, really recommend it, calm place, with some small shops to get a drink and enjoy the view from the mountains to the sea, with all rivers and small towns.

Avoid onward travel from the ferry terminal!

After today’s experience, I wish I have paid an extra 100/200baht and traveled with Lomprayah as I did on the way to Koh Tao! They were superb. The ferry part was fine (other than departing and arriving after scheduled) but the bus journey from Don Sak t
