Beautiful garden setting
Our group had breakfast (though the cafe only opened at 10:30am-ish) in the garden area and found it to be a peaceful setting - despite being located so close to the main road. The breakfast was good, though I had the waffles and they were a little smaller than I had hoped. Had to steal some of my friend's potatoes to help fill the gap. The waiter was casual, but friendly enough. The cafe also had a resident feline sunning himself in the garden. A lovely and welcome addition.Hi there and thank you for your review we are so glad you had a nice experience :) We're a bit confused about the waffles though as we don't have any waffles on our breakfast menu - possibly you had our French toast? Lovely of you to mention Pat our gorgeous Quarter Acre cat... she has a lot of fans!PS Info for other readers - we open at 10am Tuesday- Friday and 9am on the weekend :)

A Fixed Stop enroute via Levin
We stopped by this place, twice, in the span of a Weekend, whilst travelling through levin. Wonderful take away, run by passionate bunch of people. Reasonably priced and cooked fresh. I rarely give a 5 star rating to anyone, but these guys deserved to be my first.

A Much better experience
Had a meal recently and we were a little hesitant due to our previous experience. We had a seafood chowder and prawns which we both enjoyed. We both had burgers - Angus for him and crispy chicken and avocado for me. The buns weren’t toasted and I really had a sliver of avocado and did expect more. Service was good.Hey Kiwiintheus, thanks for your feedback! Glad to hear you've had a better experience here this time. Hope to see you back again soon.

Tasty and filling
The restaurant attracts a mixed crowd because it's well priced. We had the banquet. The lamb saagwala and butter chicken stood out for us. Service was good. We also took our own wine. Some of the seating is showing its age and we moved to another table which was more comfortable. An enjoyable meal from which we rolled on home.

Unsure why the rave reviews
I have been into the bakery side of the business several times. Food on this side is above average. Tried the cafe side this week. Hugely disappointing. The breakfast menu board looked old and the options uninspired. As it was a Monday, there were few other better options open so I settled on a ham, cheese and tomato omelette. The best part of the meal was the toast as the bread was from the bakery. Omelette itself was terrible. Looked nothing like any omelette I’ve made or eaten to date. Texture was more of a badly done scrambled egg mixture rolled with the filling inside like a calzone. Way too much cheese and cheap diced ham. The tomato had cooked and lost its form and flavour. Really unenjoyable. Way better options in Ohau and Manukau.

Tofu had gone off !!!
Usually a regular here but the last 2 meals I have had here were shockers as some of the tofu in the meals had gone off and tasted rotten. Really disapointed as the food is usually good and fresh so after the first off tofu meal waited a while and went back to try again and was again shocked and disapointed to find they used tofu that had gone off again. GROSS! Won't eat here again.

cheap trucker cafe
there are no fancy table cloths or décor here but if you want a hearty meal on a budget, don't mind sharing the tables and really can get past the environment, then you are guaranteed a good roast meal if you get there early. great for backpackers needing their veges but it closes at about 12.30 for meals so be quick

Cheap and cheerful
If you're looking for an eatery that puts 100% of its effort into making good food and providing good service over anything else, then this is the place for you. We appreciated the low-key, cheap and cheerful cuisine - served in a rather rudimentary dining room and on basic dinnerware. The chef was happy to accommodate my vegetarian diet and even made sure to ask if I was okay eating egg noodles. Couldn't have been happier here, and we will definitely be back. A great place to stop for lunch if you're on a road trip passing through Levin.

Great family restaurant
Decent size meals, good value for money. Tasty food. Really like the fish n chips, the chicken alexander and the roast (always pork). Great kids menu with more than just deep fried food on it (that is there, but there's also things like nachos, butter chicken, burgers, roast), and has dessert included in the price. Good service. Turn the table mat over for fun things to do while you wait for your meal to come. Thanks Sue for your awesome review. We are all glad you had such a great time here. We will see you again soon.
