Where to Eat in Montepulciano: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Montepulciano makes a great base for exploring the Tuscan hill towns. Just make sure to pack well-broken-in walking shoes, because cars aren’t allowed in the center of town. Explore the Duomo of Montepulciano and the Palazzo Tarugi… or sample the local wine, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which has been praised for centuries.

Awesome food, great service
I went there with my girlfriend at the end of November. It was already #1 in Montepulciano (the waiter then told me it was from the previous day!). It basically look like a big plate of cheese and hams & sliced meats & stuff. But it tastes SO GOOD. Every ingredient has so much taste, your taste buds are just longing for more.We were wondering if having a 2 persons plates wasn't too much. The waitress told gave us a good idea of the portion size and didn't push for us to takemore/paymore, and I really enjoyed that. The "Vineria wine" was also good, so much that I went back 2 days later to get a case of 6 to bring back home.It was basically the kind of experience where you expect a lot, but they still offer more than you expect. (Extra points for the sorpresa!)I went back last week end (early March) with 2 friends and even if we waited a bit longer to be served, the food was great and service really neat. My friends kept thanking me for having brought them there. It is not suuuuuuper cheap (for a student budget), but you have much more than what you pay for, so it's still a SUPER MEGA WIN. Paid between 15/20€ both times. (for a full belly and good wine)

Bellisimo! Penn State Extension Cork and Cellar Tour~Tuscany
After spending the day with our group visiting 3 different Montalcino wineries this was a beautiful end to a beautiful day! Immediately we were greeted with delicious aromas and warm hospitality. Making ourselves at home around a table that was beautifully decorated with edible flowers for the centerpieces. Art worthy platings that taste as delicious as they look! I highly recommend making this a stop on your itinerary, they made us feel like family! This place is a gem, next time I visit, I will enjoy taking a class and immerse myself learning in their gorgeous kitchen!

Amazing surprise find
We were unable to find parking to go into Pienza town so were driving around and found this gem of a restaurant. The owner is very welcoming, they accommodated our 15 month old son and dog no problem. The food was delicious! The bruschetta was the highlight, though the pasta was copious and delicious also. They even bring you out a nicely chilled bottle of limoncello to finish your meal. I would highly recommend!

We were warned about the "roadside deli", plastic tables, etc, but what content! Pasta with a light, yet meaty wild boar ragout, preserved artichokes, which tasted of artichokes (not oil) and of course the charcuterie board, which was explained in great detail by our waiter. Amazing truffle sauce, good chianti at shop prices. We bought a few items to take home and ended up receiving a gift from Salumeria. Staff are courteous and highly knowledgeable and happy to share info about the food and history of Salumeria with the guests. Prices are absolutely reasonable.Rustic, fantastic, a must on your Siena visit!

So good we went back
We stayed in Tuscany for 2 weeks and the food here was the highlight. The view is sensational, the service impeccable and the food is still the best part of the experience. From the bread and range of oils to start to the truffle menu and the daily specials, this is absolutely worth a visit.

A must visit with incredible views!!
We visited this brilliant restaurant whilst on a family holiday in Tuscany. The service was outstanding from the moment we arrived, the views of San Gimignano spectacular and we could not fault the food. The finishing touches and attention to detail were second to none, and the owners made us feel very welcome too.We were a party of 16 and we all had the tasting menu and wine pairing (see images attached). All extremely tasty and cooked to perfection despite the party size.Would thoroughly recommend a visit!! Gentile Signora Rebecca,Thank you for this beautiful and heartfelt review in TripAdvisor. We remember your group well and so appreciate your kind words and the time you took to share. We hope to welcome you again here at al43 when your travel allow, but until then, we send you our warmest wishes.Baker & Cristian

The combination of a beautiful setting and fantastic food plus excellent service make this a perfect restaurant to visit for an unforgettable meal. Guido is an exceptional chef bringing a modern twist to some Tuscan classics. His tomato and bread soup with fried mussels is a delight as is the mushroom risotto with Quail. In fact over a week at Le PIAZZE we ate in most nights and tried most dishes, all were exceptional. On top of the food, the service provided by Bucci and Alessia was top class .If you have the opportunity pay Guido a visitThank you very much for this amazing review. We are delighted to know you had a great dinner and we really hope to welcome you in future,Kind regardsTavola di Guido team!

Don’t expect to dine in!!
After arriving in the evening in Siena, we found this on tripadvisor and thought a quick pizza would be suitable. It took us a while to find it as it’s hidden away and arrived at 7.30 pm to 8 pm. There are just a couple of tables but these were free. We sat down, said hello but were told with some reluctance that it would be 45 minutes until they could serve us as they were so busy with deliveries. We then asked if they could deliver (we were staying just around the corner) and they said we could. We then waited for them to become free again so we could place an order (which was about 5-10 minutes even though we were the only people there and obviously waiting for them) only to be told they couldn’t deliver until after 10 pm. Why they didn’t say this in the first place I don’t know. I got the impression they were busy and not really interested. Unfortunately we didn’t get the try their pizzas but my suggestion would be that if you are thinking of this then just order for delivery. Whilst I wish to be fair, I have been in very similar types of pizza places and been fed/welcomed. It is obviously popular as it was clearly busy, but just be aware if you are from out of town that eating in is not really an option.
