Delicious!

The restaurant is situated in the financial district close to the Sheraton hotel. It is a lovely restaurant with a great ambience and the waiters are wonderfully polite and professional. We had several vegetarian dishes and each one was absolutely delicious. The food was quite spicy so if you aren’t used to hot food mention it to the waiters when ordering. I can thoroughly recommend Woodlands - it’s up there with the best Indian food we’ve ever had.Dear Guest,Thank you for taking time to post your review in Trip Advisor. We are extremely pleased that you enjoyed your dining experiences at Woodlands Restaurant. Your words of appreciation will inspire our team to strive for further excellence. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.Kind regards,The Management Team Woodlands Restaurant.

Quiet Birthday Dinner

I surprised my wife for her birthday at Asado. The restaurant team led by Ehab had booked a private room which happens to be their wine chiller room (and it wasn't that cold). Quite romantic as well!A few days earlier, I got in touch with Ehab and the chefs who had provided options in 3 set menus which were interchangeable with ease. I chose the 4 course menu. Their team was very prompt in answering my questions and catering to my needs. When we arrived, the restaurant was absolutely quiet without any guests. It seemed we were going to be the only ones there. No complaints! We were taken to our private room which was decently lit with lights from the wine chillers. We met Ehab (Supervisor) who was also our server. Ehab was very accommodating. My wife had the red wine from their varied selection and I tried their supposedly South American beer (which actually was from Australia). They also had a promotion to buy a bottle and get another free. I would suggest to include more varieties of South American beers. Before starting with our first course, we were offered complimentary freshly baked sour dough bread with options of spreads containing black olives, cheddar cheese with chopped chilly and unsalted butter. Our first course was a grilled chicken salad and Sopa De Calabaza Asada. The portion size of the salad was very good and filling. The pumpkin soup was ok and mildly hot enough to consume. Our 2nd course was a Ceviche NikkeiOur main course was chicken and Argentinian grill platter. Our dessert course were Chocolate Melt Down. Finally, along with the dessert, Ehab and his team greeted my wife with a birthday cake which was very thoughtful. The cake was a chocolate mousse cake.Overall, the experience was great! The staff were very good and attentive. We will come back again! We hope the restaurants offers more promotions to attract food loves.Dear Guest,It was a pleasure to have you dine at Asado, South American Steak House and thank you for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor.Your generous praise of our team is very rewarding and will inspire our team to scale greater heights of excellence. We are delighted that Asado has always been your preference for dining and that the team looked after you well on your recent visit, especially Mr. Ehab. The team and I eagerly await your return in the not too distant future. This was the first place we ate at during our trip to Muscat and it was lovely!Food was great and the aesthetics of the restaurant were very authentic. Outdoor seating is also available over looking the Muttrah Corniche. Prices are also reasonable considering the standard of the dishes. Definitely recommend, very grateful that we stumbled upon it.

Excellent South Indian food, surly staff

My lovely wife and I were in South India recently and fell in love with the local food. It was therefore great to discover a branch of Saravana Bhavan in Ruwi. We were spoilt for choice - dosa, uttapam, idli, vada, gobi 65 and so much more! Plus lots of North Indian favourites. After much debate we ordered chana batura & gobi 65 to share, a Mysore masala dosa for me and a rava masala dosa for my lovely wife. Everything was very good. Just like being back in Tamil Nadu! The only difference was that the staff were nowhere near as friendly, which is a shame as their surly nature has stopped me from.giving them five stars. Good value at 5.650 rials.

Nice Pure Veg option

Well located in the heart of Ruwi. Good variety of food. A tad expensive and lots of masalas. The chats are really worthwhile. The Weekend brunches are a good fare and popular. The Weekday afternoon Lunch Comos are really worth the money. Unfortunately these are not available for Dinner! For Dinner Fresh rotis with North Indian gravies are good fare. They also have sweets which are quite popular. Overall decent but a bit low on Value for Money unless you must visit a Pur Veg Joint

Consistently boring

This restaurant has not changed at all during the years. The decor is dreary and not much to drive home for food. Chinese food with an Indian flavour. The good part is that above average quality has been maintained as far as food is concerned.
