Where to Eat in Tallinn: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Tallinn's atmospheric Old Town is an enthralling hodgepodge of medieval streets and spires. It's a small city, and the tourist areas are safe and easily explored on foot. Buy a Tallinn Card if intending to use buses, trolleys or trams. For a look into Tallinn's past, visit Rocca-al-Mare Open Air Museum's typical rural Estonian taverns, windmills and watermills, see the onion-domed 1900 cathedral or join the bustle in historic Town Hall Square. St. Olav's spire was once the tallest in the world.

Outstanding service and amazing food

This was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food was stunningly good - I had the braised elk, my wife had the white fish of the day, and then we shared some bread pudding. The service was exceptional - really friendly and welcoming - and the ambience was perfect. It was busy but we didn't feel pressed for space or time. Thoroughly recommend.

Great environment, fantastic service, very good local tastes

Located centrally in the old town, across the Church of St.Nicholas, this place was recommended by locals for its good cuisine and staff. Indeed, dishes were very interesting, based on local ingredients and tastes. All dishes were very tasty and fresh, in average portions. Prices were average for Talinn restaurants. Very pleasant environment. Service was fantastic (among the best we ever encountered!), making this a memorable experience!

Gem of a restaurant

Lovely atmosphere, relaxed music and surroundings. The best service we've ever experienced in a restaurant delivering exquisite, unforgettable food. This was wonderful dining at an extremely reasonable price - we had starters, mains and desert, washed down with house beer. Everything was delicious without exception....this restaurant is immensely popular so book in advance if you can to save disapointment.

It’s Good, The Majority of Reviews Are Correct

Since my wife and I were on the same wavelength this evening, we both had the beetroot salad and the pike perch. Continuing the compatible thinking, we both thought the selections were very good. Service was prompt and the room was pleasant enough. It’s a good restaurant and worth a return visit. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

WONDERFUL FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE

Scheeli is just off the main square in the Old Town and is well worth a visit. The food was delicious, especially the seafood dishes, and the service second-to-none. The wine list was mainly western European but comprehensive enough and with subtle live music also on offer, dinner was a true delight

Lovely lunch

We stumbled on this place today and were really impressed. My partner had a selection of 3 mini burgers, each with its own recommended small glass of beer. He really enjoyed it and it’s a nice idea. I had vegan ‘dirty Fries’ with falafel and hummus and really enjoyed it. The staff in this place are super friendly - perhaps a little too friendly as we couldn’t use the toilet at one point because they let 2 non-customers come in and use it!! But overall great experience and would highly recommend.
